Toterhome Build Dreams/Reality Check

I'm curious about what you do for a living?

Commercial/Industrial HVAC. Amazon's, Home Depot Distribution centers, pharmaceutical process facilities, nut fumigation chambers. Our niche is the weird and off the wall stuff. Small enough to stay under the union radar but big enough I'm not bidding against 30 people for a 2000sqft Starbucks. Been very fortunate.

Same here

Even the ~2015 gm mirrors have a blinker IN THE FUCKING MIRROR that just blinds you at night. Dumbest shit ever

I really wanted the 08+ ford mirrors but there must be some mounting issues as all the aftermarket went GM for the dodge base plate. Still leaps and bounds better.

Maiden voyage went well, the trailer tows so much better with some ass weight, even if its only the golf cart.

This one really highlights how much garage there is

Parked will all the old folks in Class A's in the first row so i didnt have to deal with the bubba rope and phone a friend scenario getting out

Took little man up comp hill, he was unimpressed with the other golf carts. He did thoroughly enjoy the Sled out there that was whooping up on the banshee's. As did dad :grinpimp:

Some quick math says if the front end goes up 5' life becomes happy again

I need to shorten 11" overall from the above configuration so just called it a foot

however i see height becoming factor, only have 84" clear to top of door, pretty sure the hood i more than 5' and the tires are 32" on the can-am

We had to do similar to fit a 12' buggy in an 11' garage model toy hauler. It sucked out loud.

We made something like this (check out my crude MS Paint "CAD" skills because apparently my annual SW license didn't renew):

We installed this frame (in red) with a winch bolted to the top. Back car in, chock/strap rear tires, winch the front up using the tires (to keep the suspension compressed), install tire supports, let front down, strap into place with way too many straps.

Worked for years that way. Still sucked, but got him to the dunes.

Actually seems possibly the easiest way to do it.
Could be useful for repairs engine removals etc. :stirthepot:

Dammit, now I'm wondering if I can make another for the garage... :flipoff2:

BTW: the tire supports weren't flat like that. Looked more like bookshelf supports, except with 2 prongs (when viewed from above) to cradle either side of the tire.

Yeah I can see some ideas for adjustable height cradles cross drill the tube for 5/8 hitch pins and then make the cradles catch 2 holes, full range of adjustment.

The wife (mind you currently pregnant so I'm in the crosshairs at all times) is talking about a 4 seater gold cart for family rides. I said two 2-seaters sure makes a lot of sense since we already have one...

Let me tell you how dumb that idea was :lmao:

Obviously a 4 seater and the truck are fitting together like my fat ass and a size 2 thong. It just aint gonna happen.

So maybe it becomes a 4 seater and a quad for my sanity, and the Ramcharger just goes to KOH/Moab and i rent a SxS when there for the wife to put around in.

funny how uses change fast:grinpimp:

Speaking of anyone use a husky tool box for a RV island? Seems like a good way to take up the dead space in the kitchen and add serving top/storage.

Also going to figure out how to mount a 12v air compressor and a half decent sized tank behind the axles so i have air that isn't off the dually but i can run without using the generator

That would actually be perfect. Then pull the ram charger under on its tiny front rollers

So you just made us all go through all this mental strain, just to change the plan and make the trailer worthless? :flipoff2:

Puma 12v compressor is pretty legit and has a small tank.

Linda, Linda, Linda :grinpimp: I'm only as good as the information my wife chooses to divulge. :shaking: I didnt say i was never going to do it, my buddies drive RzRs and like to mooch off the trailer at KOH so this is still likely going to go full retard one day soon. you'll see the day don't you worry.

I'll look into the Puma, id actually like a decent tank but it needs to be pancakeish so i can tuck it in the cross members and not stress about smacking it. Actually think directly behind the axles is the safest spot as they're going to be a lot lower than bottom of tank.

Between the two axles?

Thinking about this too. There's three axles and they're all torsion and welded to a 2x2 tube which is welded to the bottom of the C channel. So i should have 12-16" clear between the axles and the floor and the axles are stationary so that's a perfect "cradle" spot the tank can't get damaged in.

I'd let my kids play in traffic before I'd send them out in the dunes in a glorified power wheels.

Not to mention sounds like they're about 3 and - 0 yrs old:laughing:
:lmao: Neighbors bought their kiddos a Ranger 200 and I was underwhelmed by between sounds and acceleration (or lack thereof). That said, it looks cool sitting there, but that's about it.

I just mean with drunk idiots in 2k lb rockets flying around.

Yeah we specifically go on non holiday weekends, its not safe for an experienced driver/rider let alone a kiddo to be out there on memorial/halloween/etc. I can't tell you the number of times I've narrowly avoided a collision on the top of ridge just to watch the other driver damn near roll down the hill because they have no experience in maneuvering. Just flat foot to the top :shaking:

I do miss the days it was mostly bikes/atv's and a buggy here or there. Now its all golf carts and drunks.

My parents had some two seat quads growing up, im not really a fan of those either so itll likely be a 4 door SxS of some flavor. Id rather get some sort of defender/ranger with a dump bed so i can use it around the property when wanted

Some of the utility sxs are not super long in a 4 seat also
