The Snowmobile Thread

They must be short track sleds my f7 with a 144 and sks with 136 barley fit in my 7x14 dirt bike trailer it held my cr500 and quadracer just fine but sleds it was not meant for I upgraded to a carson funner runner toy hauler. I've went full circle back to a open two place tilt and a open 18 ft car trailer covers and salt shields are a must I do miss a enclosed at times. Good looking trailer what did it set you back
The longer 2 are 136 and 137. Both around 10'-3" total length. The smaller one is a 121, probably around 8'-6" total length.

It's $10k. Aluminum shit is not cheap anymore.

I like my deck, much easier to turn around on mountain roads, no registration, no extra wheel bearings or tires.

Sucks when I get home and have to unload to get sleds out of the weather, or the parking lot is icy.

My regular riding buddy has a 2 place clam shell triton, which is light enough to turn around by hand on mountain roads if needed for late season rides.

A 4 place enclosed would suck for how we ride, especially late season when you just drive up the road until the snow is too deep then unload there.

All what you got and where you're going. I'd like a 4 place if I lived in Wyoming, where winter is actually winter from November to April.

Right, decks have their place out west where you are chasing elevation. Not the case in the east. There is more snow in Hartford ct than there is in northern vt this am:homer:
And I’m not taking a sled deck on and off my truck 20 times because I need to use my truck bed.

I also like being able to use my enclosed to haul my sxs on trips. When we go north in the summer the trailer will have the sxs, grill, bikes, etc in it. I went from having 2-3 trailers to doing everything with one. I have a bug screen for the rear door in case we ever decide to sleep in it.

The deck is like a super useful hard tonneau cover.

I put a 4 wheeler and 3 dirtbikes on top, generator, coolers, gear in the bed all summer so I can pull the old bumper pull camper.

I do have 4 trucks in various configurations of doing truck stuff though.

Trailer we use. Fits 3 155 sleds easy. I think it would fit 4 with a little effort. Looking for a deck for early/late season adventures.

Just paid the man my deposit. Should have it in 3 weeks.

Here's the listing for the one that sold, ordered it's twin.

Tow truck!

I once had to get a skandic off a powerline trail with a blown stator. It took two more skandics to pull it through the powder conditions, and it was hard going! Looks like these guys found a better way.

That sled must have got the tunnel shortened and custom brackets made for this?

If so, then why did they need tree chunks?
What's the big round spool looking thing behind the custom rear radiator?

My first new sled I got when I was 13, we went away for a few days skiing and we got back I was itching to ride in the fresh snow. I had been jumping the frozen manure piles next door. Well, with a foot of fresh snow and a bigger pile I thought I would jump that one too. Nope, it wasn’t frozen, the new snow was just insulating it. I was buried in 2 feet of cow shit.

Reminder to stay safe out there. Found out that a guy we often race with died the other day while riding, struck a downed utility wire. A real shame, only 20 yo and was big into sleds. :frown:

Yup, 40 year old vice president of the Washington club this week

I have two trips booked for this winter. Both in February.
A Tuesday - Saturday in Northern Wisconsin and a four day weekend in the UP.
The trails are narrower where we go in Wisconsin so I like going during the week better up there. There's usually not a lot of traffic Monday - Thursday. It starts picking up around noon on Friday and is crazy by Saturday/Sunday.

Are you renting sleds?

changed the oil in the skidoo last year and never touched it again. hopefully that changes this winter. also got the boy a Polaris 440 that he only got to ride 2 days behind the house. cmon we need snow!

while I dunno I'd want to live in that much cold and snow. from a snowmobilers prospective that just seems awesome. take the sled to the store, work, etc. although getting gear on to go anywhere is kind of a pita

Was chasing snow last year. Edge of lake superior was the closest i could find it. Have 2 trips booked this year and i hope they get hammered!

If you’re chasing snow, then you’re a moron because they had a low snow year last winter.
It was almost record …
For the lack of snow.
