Do any of you guys chase the snow?
when I chase the snow, I follow weather forecasts, and when an area gets dumped on, then you go there. We didn’t go to areas that have low snow and chase 2”.

But then, again, I think cousinEddie is use to chasing 2” around.

while I dunno I'd want to live in that much cold and snow. from a snowmobilers prospective that just seems awesome. take the sled to the store, work, etc. although getting gear on to go anywhere is kind of a pita
I liked living in northern michigan the trail head was down the road from my rental I would have stayed but was not liking my job. I ended up moved to anchorage after that and was there awhile until it was time to get a bigger house the numbers didn't add up and I left back to s.e. michigan where it sucks yup pretty dumb killer riding a hour or two from anchorage.

yeah I guess I could not be sure having never lived anywhere that got real, useable snow that stays around. our snow is dogshit and were lucky to get 4-8 inches per storm and if it doesn't all melt in a week then we got lucky.

How big is this main trail you speak of? I snowmobiled a ton as a kid, but it was always on our local lake. Would love to take the wife for a 2-3 day trip.
The 45 in the black circle is Hayward Powersports. We stay north of there on lake Namakagon but usually ride down that way one of the days and stop in there to buy a few things and look around. We’ve rented from there before.

Takes about 5 minutes. Good gear costs money though.
Toss on the mono-suit, boots, check avy beacon, strap on the avy pack, helmet, and gloves.

Normally to go outside to plow snow I grab a jacket and gloves. Maybe helmet and goggles if it's blizzarding and I'm getting a headstart.

But, you get used to it. It's 20* right now and I'm outside working in a jacket. It's not even insulated boot weather yet. :flipoff2:

You in Bozeman? The snow sucked everywhere last year. I range between Cooke, the little belts, and big sky/West Yellowstone depending on where the snow is at.

Hes a dumbass. Cant comprehend how a guy went to the UP and found good groomed trails on a low snow year. Fucking moron.

I will say it again, it was all low snow year but i chased it not once but twice and put on some good miles up near superior.

I’m over beartooth pass and a bit north west.

There wasn’t much snow until the end of the season, and then the avalanche danger was
Elevated after it snowed.

x2 on the snow pack sucking last year.

Well, we could make fun of you for thinking good miles included trails... :flipoff2:

I think I put on 200 miles last year. But less than 20 were on a trail.
It does suck gas in the powder. 3-4mpg... :barf:

I’m getting old, so trail miles are the best miles to me.
I’m hoping to get 1000 miles on the sleds this year. Between the two trips I have booked we have 7 riding days. As long as the snow is decent we should hit 1000 miles easily.

I think i did 400 miles last year. I don't know how to count my "trail" miles. No one else goes up the road in the winter. Probably did a good 10 miles of dirt :flipoff2:

I've owned my 07 polaris since 2011, and have had some years with 20+ riding days, and have put less than 3k total miles on. A few of the best days were less than 20 mile days, and probably 2 solid hours of WOT on those days. :lmao:

2 hours wide open throttle seems like you might put more than 20 miles on it. The track still spins doesnt it?

Full load making trenches it spins slower. 2 hours might be an exaggeration, but on super good days it sure feels like it's full throttle to go on flat ground.

Clutches are magic... :flipoff2:

Full throttle in deep stuff I'm getting 30-40mph track speed. Sometimes I'm traveling 2mph, sometimes 30mph.

If anyone ever wants to come ride down here we can go ride then drink some beers at an off the grid cabin at 10500 feet
if I hadnt sold my 165 tracked turbo sled because I couldnt get to the mountains often enough I'd be there. but a full days drive to ride with kids and a job just isn't in the cards. I hate it here.

My aunt lives near Albuquerque and I owe her a visit. As a young teenager I got to ski Angel Fire, Sandia and Taos, it would be awesome to say I mountain rode in NM.

Any rentals in NM? Doubtful
