A new program in San Fransisco will pay people at high risk of shooting someone not to pull the trigger to help alleviate rising gun violence in the city

If I want to shoot someone enough to actually do it, $300 isn't going to make me think twice about it.New San Francisco Initiative to Pay Individuals Not to Shoot Others
The Dream Keeper Fellowship, set to launch in October, will pay 10 high-risk individuals $300 a month to end gun violence in the city.www.newsweek.com
but you arent a gang bangin thug who just randomly shoots whomever. If I want to shoot someone enough to actually do it, $300 isn't going to make me think twice about it.
Sure, but this is SanFran, so you gotta check your logic at the door.If I want to shoot someone enough to actually do it, $300 isn't going to make me think twice about it.
I might be if not getting $300 this month was the only penalty for shooting stupid people.but you arent a gang bangin thug who just randomly shoots whomever.
If I want to shoot someone enough to actually do it, $300 isn't going to make me think twice about it.
Think a lil bit more about that. Take the $300 the first time. Then go buy a case of ammo with it, an really shoot the sumbitch

Forget all that. Just once per month walk in there and be all ranting like "OMG I'm gonna fucking shoot my boss, but i won't do it for 300 bucks"Think a lil bit more about that. Take the $300 the first time. Then go buy a case of ammo with it, an really shoot the sumbitch

I don't see how it isn't, this is that whole range of thought that was once summed up as 'mind your business'Looking out for the social good is NOT Political Socialism.

when you're minding others' doings you aren't minding your own, you'll manage others' majorly worse than you could yours, everyone naturally benefits from individually well managed affairs, etc
Anyone who is "looking out for the social good" is either bending the truth for their own gain as is natural, or more likely is deluding themselves into thinking that they're altruistically fair and unbiased while fostering the exact same natural biases
I don't see how it was nor could ever have been "this way"Yeah, I understand your personal take, but that's not what "public" means.
It doesn't mean guiding thoughts, and/or indoctrination, but simply to INFORM on things that may be relevant to most people.
Used to be this way.
I don't see how it was nor could ever have been "this way"
Humanity is naturally and entirely individualistic, there is no meaningful collective especially when actively managed.
Those who claim to be fair and balanced or whatever aren't lying, they're just being fair to their own interests and doling out balance through their own biases.
