I don't see how it isn't, this is that whole range of thought that was once summed up as 'mind your business'

when you're minding others' doings you aren't minding your own, you'll manage others' majorly worse than you could yours, everyone naturally benefits from individually well managed affairs, etc

Anyone who is "looking out for the social good" is either bending the truth for their own gain as is natural, or more likely is deluding themselves into thinking that they're altruistically fair and unbiased while fostering the exact same natural biases toward individual gain

Yeah, I understand your personal take, but that's not what "public" means.

It doesn't mean guiding thoughts, and/or indoctrination, but simply to INFORM on things that may be relevant to most people.

Used to be this way.

I don't see how it was nor could ever have been "this way"

Humanity is naturally and entirely individualistic, there is no meaningful collective especially when actively managed.
Those who claim to be fair and balanced or whatever aren't lying, they're just being fair to their own interests and doling out balance through their own biases.

I think a lot of people read "mind your own business" as "don't pay attention to others business" when they should be reading it far more literally

Does anyone here believe in border security/its effect over the years?

How do you explain millions that are here...

Illegals do not reside in their posh/ritzy areas (politicians/upper class), parking vehicles all over, blasting Tejano music and knocking down a 12 pack prior to getting behind the wheel.

All the while driving uninsured/not registered vehicles. But hey exploative labor trumps all.
Rest of us hold the purse, and the shit show carries on...

It isnt just one thing. Even if we could close off, minefield and spacelazer the southern border, it wouldnt be a solution by itself. Our legal immigration system is a shitshow nightmare of unnecessary cost, bloated administrative steps and a management group that is near impossible to contact. There are a raft of other social support programs that favor illegal status and states/cities advertising being sanctuaries. And that is just the obvious ones.

The adminstrative state is structured to work against the citizen.

Have Fed cut the funding/get rid of these pet programs, let states/local government pick up the tab.

Then watch the chaos ensue following that. In no time non citizen will become a tax paying citizen...

Take away the reasons they come here illegally and most of it would stop. 75% tax on sending any money back across the border. No free insurance. No free food or housing programs. No driver licenses and without a driver licenses, no auto insurance and no auto insurance, no registration.
