Fair point and was leaning that way too.
I did say that in another postRemedied by taking the ram apart and installing some stop tubes to limit the stroke. Just leaves you with the same leverage issue Bebop brought up.
shit, you did. My badI did say that in another post
No worries lolshit, you did. My bad
Yes. My concern as well.No worries lol
I didn't go into the leverage aspect though... to be fair, I'm running a 2.5x8 ram on my super duty axle that cycles stop to stop, so the leverage isn't my biggest concern(and i haven't gotten it off jack stands to see how it will perform), my concerns with this particular setup are the angles from knuckle to the ram... seems like he's putting major leverage on the ram mounts...
Silly man. But. Maybe. HmmmSell me that mount for freefiddy and make your own to incorporate bash bars and keep your angles how you want.
Is limiting the ram and moving the knuckle hole an inch or two back an issue then? The ram is still the same size and power just doesn't cycle the whole 10"Yes. My concern as well.
Do you want a pic of how i set mine up?Silly man. But. Maybe. Hmmm
By all meansDo you want a pic of how i set mine up?
I will put a tape measure on them tonight.Stock steering arm length and a 8" ram is the perfect match for steering and has been for years. Those arms are long AF.
Thank you.chaplinfj60. Are you the kind of wheeler that likes to hit an undercut at 20 mph? Gonna be cart wheeling down bouncer hills to the bottom?
I’ve seen those kind of angles result in bent ram shafts but in competition use. I’ve got trail wheeling buddies that are running tie rod angles like that with 42’s full of water and not having issues due to it. A couple guys in the group have been in bad enough bind to have broken the inner C’s and not bent the Ram shaft
Plenty of room... but the ram/ steering arms have to be removed first. That’s perfect. Do you have any issues with removing gears Looks like you have enough room
No. Identify as a rock crawler with mild bad decisions but usually don’t bounce ledges with the front. The back. Game on.chaplinfj60. Are you the kind of wheeler that likes to hit an undercut at 20 mph? Gonna be cart wheeling down bouncer hills to the bottom?

If I were you, I’d run it like that and enjoy the ram being so much further up out of the way than your buddies. That you can get right up on top of stuff that others are plowing their ram mount into.No. Identify as a rock crawler with mild bad decisions but usually don’t bounce ledges with the front. The back. I get what you’re saying though.
This. Run it. Ive never set up or seen one not work just fine even with major angle. Sure it's not "correct" but who cares man as long as it works.chaplinfj60. Are you the kind of wheeler that likes to hit an undercut at 20 mph? Gonna be cart wheeling down bouncer hills to the bottom?
