What's new

Spinoff: Newest vehicle you own and approx annual commuting mileage

91 Wrangler is the newest thing I own. But only used offroad.

84 Blazer is my daily. I have a work truck that the farm owns that gets driven for work but personal stuff I drive the K5. Gets just over 5k miles a year.

I had a M1009. Bought it right off a military base from an online auction. Put almost 30k on it over the course of a couple years, was a pretty good truck. Not on wontons like yours, but I still would have driven it to Utah if the need arose :grinpimp:

2015 1500 Silverado around 110g. About 10g or less a year. Need to do the ball joints.

I’m running a 2001 Saturn I got for free it had 114k on the clock and needed work but had new tires.
single cam 1.9?
those things will go 900k miles, I seent it with my own eyes
what killed it was the subframe rotting to the point that it collapsed

thing was using about 3qt of oil every 1200 miles, but that's fine

Own a 22 Bronco but the wife drives that. In 2 years we've put 28k on it, but 5k of that came on one Moab/Grand Canyon trip.

My DD is a 98 LS400, currently has 260k on it, I put about 45k a year on it.

Once it's over 500k one ought to put a new subframe in for shits and giggles.

2014 Chevy 2500 hd single cab, WT bought new, now 134,000 miles no issues other than trailer tow relay. Spent most its life towing or hauling a slide in camper.
1995 Toyota pickup, 3.0 no issues.

Own: 2019 Honda pilot average 12k miles/ year
Work owned: 23 raptor average 30k miles/ year

2023 Ford Maverick. Had it 10 months and have 17k on it. Usually put 20-25k a year on my vehicles.

Maverick gets DD duty. F1fiddy gets hunting/towing duty. Wife's edge just basically gets driven by her for her work. Don't usually drive it for anything else. Afraid the PTU is going to grenade.

My 95 had the single cam timing guide broke over 250k I started to replace it then said screw it I never washed it in over 5 yrs it had the rot. The 01 has the dual cam it's getting 10k oil filter changes not using much oil yet coming up on 140k and no washes either gots no time for that.

My 2018 Ram 3500 6.7 sitting at 100k, was putting 20k a year on it for work. Bought it right before we found our new place and the commute went from 3 miles to 80.
Wife’s 2020 WRX STI is sitting at 19k miles, her commute is 7 miles and not every day.

Wife; 14 accord with ~ 170k that sees 10k mi/ yr commuting.

My newest plated vehicle is an 03 gx470 with 155k, lowest mileage is an 01 Yukon xl with 125k, high odometer goes to the 02 Silverado parts runner with ~270k. I work from home and probably put 2-4k miles around town on each of 3-4 different vehicles.

2023 Tacoma, commute is 6 miles round trip. Adding in hunting and fishing trips, store runs n general use I put on roughly 6k a year.

Jaunfiddy raptor? Whatcha do that you get a cool work truck?

And pics, cuz
I'm the area manager for an electrical contractor. Been with them for 15 years. I was due for a new truck and had always had 3/4 ton Diesel trucks. Asked the boss if I could have a half ton since I don't tow stuff anymore. He said send him some I liked Sent him a link to the add kind as a joke and I got a call the next day to go pick it up. It is probably the most useless truck but boy it makes me smile. And it rides so much nicer than my previous trucks. Have had it 2 months and 8000 miles.

Just a basic white raptor. No stickers on it. I do have a headache rack coming for it and a couple brackets to mount puckouts in the bed. Need to talk him into using it to pre run the desert section at KOH :flipoff2:

How's the gx470 do on fuel? I'm looking at them, but wary of the awd making them even more of a hog

I was shocked to find that my sequoia got a mpg less than the 5.3 burb it replaced, both 4wd, same tires

Awesome:laughing:

I figured you'd either made yourself valuable enough to get something blingy, or were offroad all day:beer:

Wife drives a 2023 Expedition Max. Just over 17k miles on it and potentially one nail in the tire now that I check the app.

Also typical wife things(stereotypes save time)

it does better than the suburban, but not great- around 16.5-17 mixed mostly around town errand running. I haven't done any extended highway driving with it, but I think the lie o meter (which is pretty damn accurate when checked at fill up) says 19. something.
The tank is pretty small so it feels like you're always at the gas station but the silver lining is cheap fillups compared to the 31 gallon suburban tank. And its pretty small in terms of useable interior space for as big as it looks from the outside and or feels when driving; mine didn't come with a 3rd row i cant imagine how little cargo area you'd have with that 3rd row folded to the sides. You can feel that its built rock solid though, and that early 00's was probably peak Lexus build quality. Overall, I like it and enjoy driving it but I'm not in love with it and or determined its a permanent fixture in the fleet.

2022 Ford F450 Reg Cab - 5500 miles per year since purchase (14,800 current mileage)

What I usually drive to work:

2015 Honda Civic Si - 29,900 miles per year since purchase (292,000 current mileage)

17,200 miles per year, round trip to work post Covid (3 days per week in office.)
28,600 miles per year, round trip to work pre Covid (5 days per week in office.)

My daily is a 98 Forester that I got with a blown 2.5l DOHC engine and swapped a SOHC 2.2l out of a legacy into. The 20hp difference isn't missed because the transmission can't hold the power anyhow. It'll blow through the 2nd gear clutch if you floor it. When cold the 2-3 shift binds hard enough to slow the car for a moment. It's been like that for 20k miles. Engine also has bad piston slap to the point it sounds like rod knock, but it was free. It mostly quiets down when up to temp. Only maintenance I've done to it is one of the timing belt idlers and an oil change. I really should treat it better it's been reliable.

2005 F250, has around 150k
My daily when I am on hometime.
Typically it would see 15k a year, with me being on the road now, 2k or so annual sounds about right.

2024 International MV607 (work truck), has 159638 on it right now, 110k is from me. I got the truck brand new in late June last year, took 5 months off earlier this year:laughing:, so those other miles were from another driver prior to me reclaiming the truck a couple weeks back...

In 2005 someone gave me 85 Accord that needed work. I fixed it and drove it for a year. That’s the closet I have. However my old roommate commuted in a 71 Torino then a 90s 911 for years.
My 911 was my economy car. Shifting near redline got me 25mpg, thing only weighed 2700lbs. Had a 22g tank and I could drive from Las Vegas to Sacramento, 560 miles without stopping if I kept it under 75mph.

My sequoia on 34’s gets like 11-12 so that sounds about right. I’d consider keeping it. They are a very well built rig and will still be rolling along Looooooooooong after that suburban has died.

That's a solenoid problem (well, it's probably a clutch problem now too). The 4EAT is good to way more hp than any of these cars ever came with.

I doubt it. A solenoid issue would either be an electrical open or it would be consistant regardless of fluid temp. This one has issues releasing the pressure off 2nd while applying direct when cold which points to a hydraulic issue. That's eaten the 2nd clutch over time. It will also straight up find extra neutrals if you drive aggressively. So I don't. It was this way when I got the car and had been run that way who knows how long. I have a replacement drivetrain in a 98 outback but that would be effort and i don't give a shit until it finally quits.

Tell that bulletproof 4eat tale to the svx crew. The 3.3l on the input and 3.50 gears on the output lead to a hot short life if driven spiritedly. They also don't last long in a XT if the 2.5 gets turned up to 300hp or more.

Same here, if I can afford to feed it:laughing:
