What's new

Spinoff: Newest vehicle you own and approx annual commuting mileage

Plated, registered and insured vehicles:

2021 Sienna 2.5L of disappointment - Wife's car. She put on 40k last year. It has around 70k on it.
2020 F-250 7.3L - This was my DD the past year while I was LMM swapping my Yukon. I put about 30k on it last year. It got clobbered by hail last week, likely a writeoff. It has 88k on it.
2010 Yukon XL 2500 6.6L LMM - This was my DD before I stared the LMM swap. It has around 300k on it. It is now my DD again after scrambling to get it back together last week.
2009 JKU 6.2L L92 - Current offroader LS swapped on pro rocks and 37s. It has 150k on it.
1971 Chevelle 8.1L L18 - Project car. It hasn't run in almost 5 years now. Just dropped it off to get it up and running at a shop as I just haven't been working on it. Who knows how many kms it has. Reads 0 at the moment with a brand new Dakota Digital cluster.

If you count in un-plated stuff in my possession:

2009 Tahoe Hybrid LFA 6.0L with 300k on it
2008 Tahoe Hybrid LFA 6.0L with 230k on it
1996 Tahoe 2 door 5.7L Vortec with 230k on it
1994 Yukon GT 5.7L TBI with 120k on it (SAS'd on 42s)

All in metric.

2011 Range Rover Supercharged. 181k miles. I think I have a high deductible full coverage on it.

35 miles each way. Not a consistent schedule.

2011 Range Rover Sport HSE 180k miles liability only.

Same as above. But I don’t drive it much.

2022 RAM 3500 DRW. Only running vehicle I have since purchased 2 years 1 month ago. It now has 5500 miles on it.

My 2010 JKU that I've been building and hasn't ran for going on 7 years now, has 26k on it.

About 55 mile roundtrip commute 5 days a week

2019 F150 5.0 - 84k - used as daily from brand new to a couple months ago 13-17 mpg mixed driving
1997 4runner 2wd 224k mile - got a couple months ago, new daily commuter
1987 4runner - has stepped in as backup commuter a few times, a little rough around the edges for everyday

2011 F250 w/ 190ish thousand miles. It gets driven maybe once every week or two or if I am hauling trailers. Maybe 5k miles a year on it at the high end.

I have a 2023 F150 that work lets me use freely. :flipoff2: I put anywhere from 30-50k a year on my company provided vehicle.

2007 s2000 wife’s summer midlife crisis mobile 2-5k miles a year.

2008 Camry hybrid 60k miles beater/ loaner. 10k miles a year

2018 Mercedes gls 40k wife’s daily 5k a year

2021 f250 75k 20k miles a year.

Picked up a 2023 Civic last October. Currently at ~12,500, should be around 15k at 1 year of ownership. 15-18k annually has been my range.

I've been rotating between an 01 Mirage and 72 k10 lately. My commutes only about 6 miles round trip but I drive out of town 200 mile roundtrips every weekend. Put a couple hundred on the truck Saturday and the car Sunday. Trucks speedo is off and who knows if it's the original Odometer so can't say on its mileage annually. The car has somewhere around 350,000. It has all kinds of bad noises so it I'm ready for it to shoot craps at any moment and when it does it won't owe me a thing, especially since I got it free.

I have a 93 CCLB K3500 I drive once or twice a month, a bit more in the winter when I plow a little with it. Only plow my yard and work area sometimes.

Wifes 14 Charger has 180k on it. We got it with 13k, you do the math. I only drive it when we're both going somewhere in it.

newest is a 2007 Chevy Duramax, 220K on it

commute is 3.75 miles annually on Herman survivors. :lmao:
my office is 40 feet from the front door.

wife's 2005 Tahoe has about 320K on it
needs to be replaced soon

Wife and I each commute about 15k miles per year.

2003 Silverado 5.3L with 296k. My dad bought it new and I got it in 2008 w/ 55k. Primary DD.
1997 TJ 5.9L swapped with 152k. I'm driving this if I don't need my truck for running errands at lunch.
Wife's DD is a 2010 Acura MDX with 190k.

2003 Tahoe, 20 mile commute round trip so about 5100 - 5200.
Overall annual mileage is about 8500 miles.

I've had a 98 Volvo V70 as a DD since ~2007. 10-15k miles/yr

2 different cars, both bought used with ~200k on them. Only been stranded once - failed fuel pump. Came close last year due to a CPS failure but was able to get it started after a couple tries. Got rid of the first car in 2017 to replace with a XC.

Own some newer stuff - 02 3500 Cummins, 00 Volvo V70 (backup car), 99 Freightliner, but none get driven that much. All are reliable and ready to go, just not useful for commuting.

Newest is 2011 Jeep GC I bought in 2012. It’s at 127k with 0 commute miles because of company vehicle/gas card for work.

2005 2500hd duramax with 118k, bought it in 13 with 44k, I keep a trailer hooked to it to keep the miles off it.

2003 sequoia bought in 18 i think with 210k, at 276k now, it was my dd, now my 19yos driver

2012 bmw x5 diesel up to 166k iirc about 25mpg commuting, comfy, somewhat fun to drive. 2mo ago it threw codes, I'm freaking with my remodel, don't have time, and my shop isn't wired yet or power to the lift, so I parked it

Temp beater is a 2007 highlander hybrid with 140k miles and cold ac. Cost me 4k.

My oldest wants to buy her own truck in the fall, my younger daughter turns 16, and I bought a place in the mountains to fix up, so I need a good 4wd for traveling.

I'll probably go thru the sequoia for maintenance, put my 16yo on it, fix the bmw with offroad parts... and either buy a low mileage tundra crew cab or lay off the 24 dodge diesels just because I want one:laughing:

And sell the highlander at tax return season

Daily is a 2019 Chevy 1500. It has right at 91k on it. Put on around 22k so far this year. How much I drive for works varies drastically.

I don’t have an entry to the OP’s intended purpose. I’m to bougie and get paid to drive a work truck with a fuel card.

How about a sub spinoff. How about newer vehicles that don’t get used. I would like to brag about my 24K actual miles 2006 LJ that maybe the most abused vehicle on this board. That’s not in any way a misleading statement. 24K actual miles. I have somewhere in the neighborhood of $30K cash into it and haven’t driven it in two years now. Beat on it hard the 10 years prior to that though.

01 f350, 54x,xxxkm. Commute is only about 25km, but it also goes to the track and back, about 250km round trip to the closest track, 1000km to the farthest, every weekend during race season, hauling bikes and a 19' travel trailer.

Wife has an 08 mdx. Just under 300,000km. She works from home 4 days a week, so hardly goes up at all.

does my old 04 cummins truck count? Bought it in 2005 with 19k on it, has 250k on it now. drove it 700 miles last week pulling the 'oo silverado to a race event. granted it sits alot now, i usually daily something else. current daily is an 02 wrangler with 180k on it. dog rides in the back(seat is out) and the top/doors are off. i could be driving my '00 silverado, but I dont/wont put my dog in it. all my shit is old. I also have an 82 square thats not running yet but hopefully soon will be and a 68 camaro. all old, all junk.

we do keep a late model luxury(ish) car around for the war department. so unless we're doing truck stuff out of town, we'll take her ride.

Now I want that and your dead 6.4 truck. Bastard.

Newest is an 03 Civic, loved that car! Put 80k on it in about 4..5-5 years. New DD is a 99 Tacoma. I loved these years of vehicles, every since feels like a damn school bus.

I probably put 15-18k a year on em.

My wife mostly drives a 2013 F150 with 220k on the clock. I know the math says 20k a year but I think it’s more like 15k for four years and then two at 30k. Or whatever makes the math work.

2015 Kia K900 V8

34 miles/day commute

Strictly commute miles will be about 8,500 miles/year

The Kia also is a highway cruiser on our road trips to our families.

Pushing 20k miles a year total.

I hope someone will rear end my Kia. I think it’s V8/8-speed trans will make for a killer engine swap in something.

My newest car is a 2010 Camaro (80k miles on odo), but I don't DD it. Maybe 2k per year maximum.

My DD is a 2000 Tundra (250k miles on odo) and my round trip commute is 43 miles, but I WFH 2 days a week at least. I probaly put around 8k miles per year on the Tundra.

newest is the 04 insight but it has less miles on it in my ownership than my lawn mower

miles/yr?
hahaha ok fed

2024 Acura MDX
4200 miles on it, owned it 10 months 😂

My not DD but insured
175k miles
2004 TJ that hasn’t moved in 8 months because of body cancer repairs

Work car I pay $100/month for but don’t pay insurance:

2024 Trailblazer
10k miles on it since March of 2024
