What's new

Spinoff: Newest vehicle you own and approx annual commuting mileage

I doubt it. A solenoid issue would either be an electrical open or it would be consistant regardless of fluid temp. This one has issues releasing the pressure off 2nd while applying direct when cold which points to a hydraulic issue. That's eaten the 2nd clutch over time. It will also straight up find extra neutrals if you drive aggressively. So I don't. It was this way when I got the car and had been run that way who knows how long. I have a replacement drivetrain in a 98 outback but that would be effort and i don't give a shit until it finally quits.

Tell that bulletproof 4eat tale to the svx crew. The 3.3l on the input and 3.50 gears on the output lead to a hot short life if driven spiritedly. They also don't last long in a XT if the 2.5 gets turned up to 300hp or more.
Whatever.

It's a fine trans for 250hp and under. 300 is more than these vehicles ever came with stock.

IDK about the new solenoids but the old (phase 1) ones slowly fail until the computer detects the fault and locks you out. Has something to do with iron particulate hence the filter on phase 2

My sequoia on 34’s gets like 11-12 so that sounds about right. I’d consider keeping it. They are a very well built rig and will still be rolling along Looooooooooong after that suburban has died.
Meh, 300k miles isn’t uncommon for a gmt800 burb, so 200kmiles of road trips left in it. and it rides better and is more comfortable for big guys like me.

My gx spent a few winters as someone’s vt cabin Transport so I’m not convinces that frame will make it to 300k. You wanna buy it?

2021 Prius 90K, gets 25K a year on it.
2019 F250 51K gets 6K a year added to it.
2002 F250 181K gets 8k a year added to it.

Primary commuter is the Prius, I carpool with the GF 3 days a week. I make the 90 mile commute in the 2002 F250 once a week just to piss of my Tesla driving coworkers, and use it to run around town. The 2019 is the "nice" vehicle of the bunch, it pulls the 5th wheel and gets used for longer road trips.

My newest is a 2010 Chevy Tahoe with 150k miles on it that I never drive. It goes down to the bottom of the driveway and back 2 times a day to put the kids on the bus.

Daily commuter is a 2001 (maybe 2002) Chevy Tracker with 155,000 miles on it. No idea how many miles a year I commute. I have 5 registered vehicles that all get driven for different reasons. The Tracker hands down gets driven the most.
