Sore Dick Deals

F***! That's $100 cheaper than I paid for the Gen2 version a year and a half ago when IT was on sale.

It looks like only green and white are currently available, though. As an aside, I always wonder about sale prices on things they apparently can't keep in stock.

^You should be able to preorder any color in store. It'll just likely take 4-6 weeks for it to come in.

Unfortunately, they still don't have the Titanium welding table in stock locally. Also, there are a lot of exceptions, but ICON and Doyle aren't mentioned among others.

That’s about par. I paid $899 when I ordered mine in October or November. :homer:

I know a few people have been using this style of casters for things:

Use coupon code "40CASTERS" to get a discount off a single set. I don't know if you can make multiple orders for a discount off more than one set. It looks like $11 off of the 40F, $20 off the 60S, and $28 off the 80F.

use incognito/private mode in your browser, place order with coupon, close browser, repeat. My experience is Amazon itself doesn't track the coupon usage on their server but uses cookies on your machine. This will prevent them from realizing you already used the coupon.

UPS just dropped off a Warn EVO VR remote. I verified that I already have an identical remote. Weird.

Same. Identical to the wired one in my box.

It came with a comic book about throwing away the wireless one, so hopefully it has nothing to do w the rebate.

Also received a backup wired control. Not gonna complain, if there's any part I'm gonna fuck up or accidentally leave laying on the trailer and drive off, it's the remote.

Somebody crack one of these open. I'm curious if they changed it from the original ones that came in the box.....and from what I understand are the original ones with the wireless transmitter removed.

Too lazy to open them. EVO Wireless on the left, EVO wired on the right.

I wonder if they know by serial number if you had the wireless remote? I'm also wondering if the wireless stuff is still intact. Grab a screwdriver and pop that thing open. IBB needs to know! :flipoff2:

Edit: The fact that it still has the battery tab means that is still a working wireless setup.
Where did you order from? Maybe you got some older stock and the rest of us got new shipments that had already been swapped out before they got to the vendors.

The only other issue I had was that the leg bolts are 12mm socket head cap screws. It seems a lot of basic sets only go to 10mm, so I had to pick up a 12mm hex socket. I'm also a bit concerned about these fasteners loosening up from squeezing the tube. I'll probably sleeve the holes just to be on the safe side.

So I just didn't like the feel when you bolted the legs on. As I said, the holes aren't sleeved and I could feel the tube flexing as I cranked down on it.

So I tore it apart, drilled out the holes, and sleeved them.

Then, because I can't leave well enough alone, I stripped the legs down and sandblasted them.

And then powder coated them before reassembling everything.

It feels a lot more secure now. I'm likely going to work on the cradle next to improve it. I'm not sure if I can do anything about the release valve to turn it into a foot pedal.

I'll have to get one. Best I can find is this one from online.

The handle just turns the valve 1/2 a turn - like the ones on a typical bottle jack.

I'd have to see if I could substitute it for a plunger style that would work with a foot lever.

Sleeving those holes has to make it so much more solid and safer to use:smokin:

Weld a "T" handle to the side just above the foot pedal, add a bracket with a spring to pull the valve to close position, then a foot pedal to push on the t handle to open the valve.
Something like this (but looking at the picture, probably on the other side of the jack):

Blue = T handle welded to existing handle
Green = Bracket bolted/welded to base
Yellow = Spring to pull valve closed
Red = Foot pedal to open valve
If you wanted to get fancy, you could use some kind of ball end linkage instead of just a pair of rods.

I may be misunderstanding your description, but I'm not sure that would work with the current valve. Are you saying the foot pedal to push the existing handle sideways to turn it? Or if you're saying step down on the pedal, that wouldn't release the valve. The current valve is a quarter to half turn. I don't think the spring would return that.

I work for Northridge4x4, but not on the sales side.
I'm still waiting. Think I got scammed. :flipoff2:

My last update said they should ship around Dec 13-20 (but that was a guess on his part).
Still no shipment.

My luck I'll probably be too late to claim the rebate...

Amazon has been notifying me of coupons on them...

Mine worked fine messing around. No idea how it will last, and not too worried for $99.

ETA-
Oh, I see: 55DS vs 55DSPro.
The Pro is non-HF, the other is HF.
The Pro uses the slightly odd PT40 torch (expensive consumables), the other uses the AG60 torch (common consumables).
The 40 has ear standoffs, the 60 has wires.

New remote is missing the wireless transmitter inside. Everything else looks the same.

Installed one on a customers vehicle before Christmas. It had a broken contacter cover. When I pieced it back together, it looked like the wireless antenna was still on it. So I’m assuming it’s just the transmitter that is missing.

Yep. Somewhere earlier there was a link to the recall "repair" where they just had you open up the original remote and cut out the battery. Pretty sure on the ones that shipped later they just opened up the boxes and swapped out the remotes. And they're supposed to be releasing a revised wireless remote so very likely they left the receiver in place.

And I found package near my back door last night. No clue how long it was there because I usually don't look unless I'm expecting something.

I wonder if they're sending these instead of the gift card that we may or may not have been eligible for.
