Russia / Ukraine thread

yes to both, there is an open invite for anybody to come to ukraine, pick up a free rifle and some bullets, and smash and grab as many tanks as you can carry.
But you would have to pay to import tax and claim it here if brought back home.

Korean War, Vietnam, Laotian Civil War, Lebanon, bay of pigs, Dominican, Cambodian, Lebanon, Grenada, tanker War, Panama, gulf, Somalia, Yugoslavia, Haiti, Kosovo, Afghanistan, yemen,Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia again, Libya, Uganda, Iraq again, Syria, etc etc etc

Course then there's
Angolan Civil War, Indonesian, Afghanistan Civil War, Georgian, Congo, Nepal, turkey, Peru, Iran-saudi, isreal-palestine, etc etc

Then there's
War on drugs
War on terror
War on War

Then there's the ones we don't know about.

"We need to defend them", fuck that, they both have minor tit-for-tat going on for years. They can figure out their own shit. One side is lying and misleading, the other is using propaganda and misinformation.

  • A second round of talks between Kyiv and Moscow has ended, with the two sides agreeing a tentative plan to create humanitarian corridor.
  • Russian President Vladimir Putin says operations in Ukraine were going to plan.
  • Russian troops have seized control of Kherson, in Ukraine’s south.
  • Several other cities, including the capital, Kyiv, northeastern Kharkiv and Mariupol, in the southeast, continue to be attacked.
  • President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine’s defence lines are holding.
  • The United Nations says more than one million people have fled Ukraine amid Russia’s assault.

1M, that's a whole bunch of people "fleeing" instead of standing and fighting for their country :flipoff2:

Kyiv, Moscow agree corridors to evacuate civilians: Ukraine

Ukraine and Russia have agreed to create humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians in a second round of talks since Moscow invaded last week, a top Ukrainian official said.

“The second round of talks is over. Unfortunately, Ukraine does not have the results it needs yet. There are decisions only on the organisation of humanitarian corridors,” Ukrainian presidential advisor Mykhailo Podolyak said on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Russian chief negotiator Vladimir Medinsky also confirmed the news of agreement of the corridors and a possible ceasefire around them, describing the talks as “substantial progress”.

welp, there's the conclusion of the second round of talks, day 3 will likely (hopefully?) be reduced shelling into Kharkiv and then i'd imagine and expect that day 4-7 will be much more intense as every civilian will have been warned by the previous 2 days of warm up and the third day of free travel. Anybody left better hold on to their hats.

If Kharkiv can withstand and still offer active resistance after the first week, that will be a good sign for them. If they get ran over or lose ground the, regardless of how long it takes, russia will absolutely take all of ukraine

Seems to me a win for Russia to pound Ukraine, win for Ukraine citizens to get to safety (presumably all or all but military age males?), and time for Ukraine to prep and plea?

Hopefully the corridors won't be another un/nato/dutch boondoggle.

Edit: wait, wasnt putin crazy, finger on the nuke, unstable, fearful to negotiate or has something changed, again?

That is a SAAB.

somehow he has gone from absolutely mad to stable in the media after just a few days

i'm still not sold on the level of competence of the russian army, this has been strikingly bad and to even brush off 500 dead and millions of $$ worth of equipment seems just absurd, even for Russia

Where’s that meme about children and crew served weapons? Octogenarians are perfect for heavy machine guns and mortar crews too.

Just imagine the look on the Russians faces when granny starts cracking off rounds from a dshk:lmao:
can't say it matters who is on the tube or the gun, as long as it is launching it is getting a response!

Yeah right....

(Sarcasm in case it's lost)

(More sarcasm)

There's not enough dust on me!

(More sarcasm)

(This statement may or may not be factually accurate. The dust could be dirt or some other organic and or inorganic material. Statements made by Trackerbacker are representative of that user's statements and not of i4x4 llc, etc. Despite preconceived notions, bias or other $40 words)
Finally clear communication (sarcasm) :flipoff2:

Nor am i, though if it is this bad, how after being so pesky all those years, and all those years of planning?

So you just admitted you agree with Russian propaganda. (Russia propaganda says we interfered in an internal movement) The USA has no business interfering with an internal movement. Its not justified just cause you dont like Russia.
Are we going to pretend that Russia wasn't doing at least as much as we were to influence things toward the leader who would have been sending bribes to Putin instead of to "consultants" who were related to US political leaders?
Not saying that we are guiltless, just saying that both sides have similarly dirty hands.

"Wow, you are being a good little Russian apologist"
Sdcj

Who's worse, the country doing it openly or the one doing it quietly and Shaming others for attempting to influence?
