And yet not one country is intervening. This the shit that drives me crazy. Everybody sits back and sanctions the piss out of RUS but the innocents are still dying every second. Their cities are still being destroyed. We sat back and watched ISIS form and eradicate the oldest treasures on this earth and take thousands of lives before someone thought it might be a good idea to at least put them on their hind feet. By then they had taken control of cities and it is a major pain in the ass and dangerous as fuck to root rats out of a city. You DON"T let them get in so it doesn't become a problem.

We didnt sit and watch Isis we armed them.:flipoff2:

Yeah, but we must remember;
Many of the Western countries just finished involving themselves with a 20 year war in the sandbox.

And Russia has nukes.

I repeat my earlier question:
If Ukraine still had it's nukes; would Russia invade?

Their GDP is 1.48 trillion, which is slightly larger than Florida's.
I heard that 1/3 of their GDP was oil/gas.

There seems to be a direct correlation between when Russia invades Georgia, Crimea, and Ukraine in relation to oil price.

Then a direct correlation between oil prices and presidents...

Well, compared to Biden....he's as sane as you and I. That's however not saying alot. :flipoff2:
I suspect that is a lot f propaganda. To piss him off some, and to diminish his rep throughtout the world too. For us also. Like, "what could've we done. We were pushed into conflict cuz he's crazy bastard. Now go die for freeeeeedom"!

The difference is that Biden has sane advisors who are making the actual decisions. I'm talking mainly about career intelligence and military people.

More and more people think Putin isn't "all there" sanity wise.
He may be nuttier than a squirrel turd....but thankfully he's not as cunningly brilliant and with it as Potato Joe. Damn....our international relations may look more and more like a cutting-room floor scene from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Isn't this like buying insurance after the accident?

Five days into Russia's invasion, the Kremlin again raised the specter of nuclear war, while an embattled Ukraine moved to solidify its ties to the West by applying to join the European Union — a largely symbolic move unlikely to sit well with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has long accused the U.S. of trying to pull Ukraine out of Moscow’s orbit.

He's invaded a sovereign nation uniting damn near the entire world against Russia leading to crippling economic sanctions and has been outright threatening the use of nuclear weapons.

The guy is bat shit fucking crazy.

He's only crazy if he doesn't get what he wants out of the whole thing. That part remains to be seen.

Uniting the world in issuing very sternly worded condemnation letters. Even the financial sanctions aren't all that harsh, as the West needs Russian oil/gas flowing.

The only nations that are serious are the little republics that have suffered the tender mercies of the Russians before and don't want to share a land border with Russia.

you think Biden has sane advsisors?

hmmm... we were energy independent and now import ~500k barrels of oil from Russia daily (IIRC)?

I'm not sure that's sane...

What does energy policy have to do with anything? Its the same career intelligence and military people who have been in place for years and in some cases decades. If you think Trump would have handled this invasion any differently then tell me how.

IMHO, energy policy is probably one of the most important security decisions that can be made. We literally went from independence to being dependent upon a country who just invaded a country....
