Russia / Ukraine thread

Ukraine was ussr, they cannot join the enemy.

Imagine California separated from the US, ok fine. But now they want to join Russia ane China. That will not be allowed. Same hing here
Ummm, as much as a lot of us would like CA to separate from the US, preferably from the big one, we would not be ok with it. Read up on the first half of the 1860s and see what happens to states that try to leave the Union.

Now take it a step further, separation happens, then separates state joins the enemy

not sure why its so hard for the world to understand how this is a problem

We wouldn't let it get that far. In the Civil War the Union fought like hell to keep England from siding with the Confederacy. And yes England still wasn't our friend in 1860. There were still veterans of the War of 1812 still alive and kicking, one old codger even fought for the Union at Gettysburg and was wounded.

Russia has always wanted buffer states. They just use the stick approach to get them instead of the carrot.

The problem is that the more you expand your borders "for safety", the more border you have to protect. And every year that goes by, there are fewer military age Russians to protect those borders.

If it wasn't for its nukes, China would have already taken a big chunk of Russia's far east.

Putin has a near 90% approval rating in Russia. Putins approval rating is a direct result of the western sanctions, the constant threat to destroy their country.

Now Russia has oil and a lot of other resources. They are no longer broke. The Ukraine mess will make Russia's Military the biggest in that continent and perhaps the world . They are not going to get pushed around any longer.

Nato's a joke most the European countries are near collapsing and our country now is living on printing money.

We should stop meddling and bullying everyone. Everything no matter where its at is now a threat to US security. Screw that, pull out of that crap and rebuild our country so that no one can be a threat to America. Get rid of Biden to start.

Gawd. Russia's military the biggest in that contient (except the USA) and perhaps the world. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Agreed with the first and last paragraphs but just fucking no to all the rest. What's left of Russia's "military" is smaller than China, India, and a fraction of NATO's. Fact. They couldn't even take Kiev or knock out Ukraine.

NATO expansion is clearly about putting pressure on Russia. Sell me on the logic of offering a guarantee by treaty of protection to the likes of Latvia and Romania (just examples) in exchange for the same. There isn't one. It's like me and Elon Musk entering into a financial agreement ensuring each other's financial solvency.

LOL you read to many "True stories from the Pentagon". NATO's equipment is in disrepair. They dont have the manufacturing ability to replace it in a conventional war against Russia. As with Ukraine NATO would be dependent on the US. Ukraine is an SMO operation, if Russia was to declare war Ukraine would quickly.

NATO basically just means "under guaranteed Americans protection". Two thirds of the members don't even meet their 2% GDP spending on defense. Literally 70% of the NATO defense spending comes from us. Would you go into a neighborhood protection plan with 29 of your neighbors and pick up 70% of the tab? Oh, and they all border on the hood while you're on the other side of the lake. Fuck no you wouldn't.

How about James Baker himself?
So, on February 9, 1990, at a meeting with Soviet Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze, James Baker stated that the United States was striving for a united Germany that would remain "firmly tied to NATO," promising at the same time "iron guarantees that NATO jurisdiction or forces would not move eastward."

It was part of the agreement to end the Cold War.
It was part of the discussion around the agreement, but it was not part of the written agreement.

Ok.
It was part of why they signed. And then we went back on it. And again. And again.

What if Russia or Russian friendly nations were pushing up through Central America? we’d be wrong AF to go into Mexico, but bet your ass we would.

Like we're doing with China with their investments in MX and other Latin American countries? :homer:

you would if you were spending other people's money and receiving personal kickbacks, and getting fun little worthless foreign toy soldiers to toss to their deaths for your own profits in oil and currency wars

NATO buys there shit from us. They dont need to manufacture the high tech. If you take even a brief look at the combined armies and mil resources of NATO you see if less one minute Russia is completely outgunned. You left out completely China and India which have vastly larger armies and resources than Russia. Dont you think that Russia is the shell in disrepair and broke.

Ukraine would quickly what ?

What is an SMO operation ?

That fucking tool has been wrong on everything he bleated out. Fuck him. Kiev was lost, Ukraine was finished - 14 months ago. Not wasting time finding all his bullshit clips on Youtube. He is right about the politics but on the war he is a fool.

Heres our congress on cluster bombs and stopping more military aid to ukraine.

The House on Thursday night voted down an amendment to the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act that would have prohibited the transfer of cluster munitions to Ukraine.

The amendment was led by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and failed in a vote of 147-276. The amendment received support from 98 Republicans and 49 Democrats.

The House also voted down amendments put forward by Greene and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) to reduce funding for Ukraine. One amendment from Greene would have cut $300 million in military aid for Ukraine that’s packed into the $886 billion NDAA, but it failed in a vote of 89-341.

Gaetz put forward an amendment to cut off all military assistance for Ukraine. The measure failed in a vote of 70-358, with only Republicans voting in favor.

When I watched the Fall of the Cabal series, one of the things I didn't believe that it presented was the idea that one of the Deep State's goals was to have a nuclear war between Russia and the United States.

Yet, here we are, with the Deep State fully back in control and we're heading to a nuclear war with Russia. The unbelievable has become plausible.

I wonder if our gov.'s goal is WWII-type rationing/controlling society/covid v.2-controlling society?

War is "good" for business. War is good for "control". A fearful population is easier to control.
Keep pumping the war machine and you'll retain control.
