Thanks everyone, probably hit 70 to 80 in Kansas, then reno I'm guessing. Around July 1 or the 2nd.

My dad hasn't been to california, so we are tentatively planning to roll out earlier than the group. Plan is to stash the tow rig and grab a rental car. Check out muir woods, golden gate, reyes point, Alcatraz, San Francisco area.

Open for suggestions, these are just areas I'm familiar with from exploring during my work travels.

If your going to San Francisco anyway spend a day down in Santa cruz doing touristy stuff and grab dinner on the water down in monterey

No. I think we’re actually pretty good on the group size. Think we have a total of 6 in our group confirmed.


I’m about 95% ready to rocky road. I need to get my steering booster and front inner fenders in…build a cooler rack (not sure on sliding or not yet)…get my spare mounted and installed…finish hard wiring my winch. Then just filters and fluid checks the weekend before we hit the road.

If not already said, you will either need parking reservations for Muir woods, or you park at the Larkspur Ferry terminal and take the shuttle. I'm a couple miles from the Ferry terminal. I will say you could Hit Samuel P Taylor Park if the Muir woods thing is to much. It's not as nice as MW, but has some cool old growth stumps and some impressive trees. It's on the way to Point Reyes. Shoot me a PM when you are in the area and I can show you around if I'm here.
