What's new

Rubicon and Pro Touring Cali

They need to store doors and tops off some Jeeps for a weekish.
Yeah I read the first few posts.

Carson City isn’t exactly a ghetto and Reno is about 30 minutes away unless you’re up in Golden Valley/Lemmon Balley/ Red Rock area. There is construction on Interstate 395 North of 80 but nothing horrible.

Expect high flows if you’re doing Fordyce.

Today is a 414. You can ask other locals about crossing at 400+.

JL is ready. Oil change, filters changed, and tcase fluid checked next weekend then start loading up. Spent a good part of the day freshening up the black JK for my son. His mom’s dad gifted it to him for graduation. Swapped the angry grilled an Ghey 20s. Light mods, sliders, bumpers, tons, LS. :flipoff2:

So, day 6 what's your guesstimate for rolling outta tahoe?
I'm figuring out what time to pick up my shotty rider and head up.

Not sure if this is for me.

Apologies. I had the arrangements kinda wrong, things changed slightly. We are headed to the rubicon Friday.

The other members of the group are scattered across the US, for different reasons.

Not sure if you have my phone #, but shoot me a call if anyone wants to show us hillbilly Appalachian wheelers some west coast rocks.

I'm supposed to be tail gunner for sluggy on the rubicon leg of pro touring.
I'll keep you on radar tho.

@225 average mortals are seemingly ok.
400 not so much .
That's capable of swallowing 40's as I understand it...

If you camp at Meadow lake you can run the top section of Fordyce without crossing water.

Which is the best part of the trail anyway
Gravy

If you go to meadow lake don't trust Google maps, stick to the main roads. It will try to send you on another trail and ruin your trip while towing. Eventually the road will turn to dirt but don't make a hard left from pavement onto dirt. Just a fyi

Don't go on the dirt road by Weber lake. Go past that one for a few miles and take the left at the Meadow lake sign. Turns to dirt after a couple hundredish yards.
First 10 miles are smooth, last couple not so much.
Just saw a Pic on FB of a trailer there so it's passable now for sure.
Try to grab the spot at the end of the 2nd set of sites at the end of the "peninsula".
Bring bug repellent. Fuckers are thick everywhere right now.

Thinking 6 am? Looks to be an hour and a half drive. Like to be ready on the trail air downed by 9 am? Are we in a rush to get there? Honestly open to input.

Totally up to you and jimbo
That gives me a good idea for my departure from napa.
Thanx

Lol I'm only on motor #3 :flipoff2:
Here's Picture of it running....

I'm down with 9am loon lake spillway, I'm going to go to Hollister next weekend to make sure this motor is good to go.

Spillway to buck first day
Buck to dirty dozens second day
Dirty dozens out Cadillac is the plan on final day

Well since I'm not going, let me tell you how your doing it wrong :flipoff2:
depending on how 72blazer feels I'd think the experience of camping at the springs may be a little more fun then dirty dozen.

I like camping on the "beach" next to the river. I'm sure we'll have plenty of room during the week to pick the prefect spot at the springs.

So this is where all the cool kids are hanging out. I thought 72blazer was coming up with all the ideas on his own. Glad to see you boys were helping. Looking forward to the trip. Should be a good one as long as 72s belt hangs on. 2finger
