Rapey Snap-On Tools

Had a need for a strong 1/2”

Those are handy as hell. I have not had good luck with them living on an impact though...

fwiw over half the space in your tool box is foam:flipoff2:
Not quite half….That’s a new addition.

Not sure if its going to stay in that. Got the room for now in that drawer. Figure once the Williams foam gets dirty, I’ll put them on another rack.

Kind of funny that I culled out my old 12 point shallow V craftsman SAE to a portable box, but ended up picking up the Williams metric 12 point set and short sae 6 pt ( still in the mail) as I had a Cummins, Dodge Mercedes, Rover need and my old minimal 12 pt metric shit wasn’t cutting it after I snapped two sockets on the same job.

My son gave me the Husky 144 ratchets for Christmas, blew $29 of his allowance on me. They actually don’t wrench too bad and are a lot better than the craftsman ones they replaced. Don’t feel bad putting a pipe on them or hitting them with a hammer, or loaning them out. I hate that shitty green handled ball ratchet.. There is one job I use it on my rokon for that nothing else seems to fit. I believe those are the only foreign tools in that drawer.

I have the 1/4" and 3/8" sets of those. Very handy. You will spin that head right off if you put too much muscle on them though...
I have them in 3/8 wobble plus, been good to me for a long time. Kind of have to use your head with them.

I won’t judge, but on my first reaction was “only an idiot would put them on an impact”.

And this is what you need to live up to an impact…. Had it 30 years or so.

I kill those in a couple of years. Most other brands make it a month but I have a SK that has been good too.

I’ve had a 1/2” and 3/8” snappy since the early 90’s I still use to this day. They’ve both been highly abused used throughout the years as well. Like running a 1/2” impact on the 3/8” swivel kind of abuse. But I guess some people can break an anvil.

That’s not counting all the years of all the wrenching I’ve done since and still do

yeah put too much torque on them and first the end smashes and the ball goes into hiding, then it snaps off the end with a little more

Salesman part still says you're a liar and jobbed that out....

I mean lets be real here. You have what 4 weeks into not finishing some plywood treehouses?

How many years did that mall crawler take?
Comeawn ankle nipper, you gotta grow some real teeth if you wanna make a bite count.

Fact is, I got more mechanical talent in my left pinky finger nail then you’ll ever dream of in your entire lifetime… ankle nipper.

Thats why yer hauling those half loads?
 You mean the loads I post up once in a while? I’m not a hot shot driver if that’s what you’re implying. I have two company trucks, a 2500 diesel and a 1500 pickup. My travels these last couple days to Memphis and Paducah are in my 1500 no loads. That’s about all you need to know really.

Bolts that should turn easily don’t in the rust belt. Fluffer :flipoff2:

What brand do you guys use for deep broach deep sockets?

I have some full broach MACs in sensor/ spark plug sizes, and an old USA made set of 1/2 broach Benchtop from KMart in the 80's. None of them are flank type drive. Just wondering if there was a decent cheap modern option out there for when they end up being the right tool for the job in a tight spot.

I do have one Pittsburg 22mm impact that i found on the road that is nearly full depth.

I have a milwaukee 3/8 impact metric set that is full broach to 19mm, probably good enough i guess.

I read Wright deep sockets are full broach, but i have never seen one in person.

All my old craftsman are less than 1/2 broach.
If it's cheap, it's typically full broach as the mfgr. process is cheaper.
