And yet back in the old Pirate days, it seemed like everyone on the forums was shitting on ubolt eliminators, aka bolts, as not able to stay tight. Full circle maybe
When you take a used ubolt off, rarely is it in the perfect shape that it was in when it was new. Normally they look pretty mangled. I don't know that the threads are stretching, although I'm sure they are a little, but mostly the entire ubolt is conforming to the shape of what it's being clamped around. I've got the same ubolts on my truck that have been there for probably 10 years, and that's the theory I'm going with. And usually my ubolts are pretty close to spec when I check 'em
