Race truck 4653

The EMC race was an interesting one. We started the race in the back and while the sun was starting to go down. About an hour into the race it was completely dark and the GPS started to spin the map on the screen and made navigation difficult. We took our time and made our way back to the start/ finish in just under 3 hours. The race director stopped us and told us we didn't have enough time to start another lap. We pulled off in the pits and that was the end of our 2023 Ultra4 racing season. Overall it was another great event with lots of great people. Now its KOH 2024 prep!

.... I didn't have a spare shaft and no one at the track had a spare either. I was able to get an axle shaft from a guy not to far from the race course and plug wires from AutoZone. While I was gone the team got the axle torn down and ready for reassemble in the morning. We skipped qualifying to work on the truck and get ready for the main EMC race later that day.

This is cool - if you're able to get spares from a local and replacement parts at AutoZone, I think you're still really what EMC is all about.

alright now that youre done with that national series nonsense :flipoff2:

I'll be at koh and help in the pit on race day again

i've got a new 50watt radio and a pair of spare stock ifs rear axle shafts that i dont want

i wouldnt count on the other guys that i was with racing/helping this year

Awesome! Looking forward to seeing everyone again on the lakebed.

Broken rear, right, OEM, axle shaft, mashed in front bumper and cracked front left frame. Nice!

Cool video. Other than a somewhat surprise night race, what did you think of the Arizona race course?

The Arizona race course was awesome. Rocks, sand, cactus, dust, hill climbs and more lol. It was a great race to end the season with this year.

King Of The Hammers 2024 prep continues with fresh window nets, new TG rear axle shafts and swapping the 4.88 gears out for 5.29s.

Very cool all around. The course looked fun but brutal too.

Do you normally switch gear sets for KOH or just looking for a little more bottom end with the lower gears?

Yep, just looking for a little more bottom end with the lower gears.

KOH prep continues with fresh leaf spring bushings, rear axle rebuild, new diffs and a new clutch master cylinder.

New engine looks purty! What are some of the differences in the new engine vs stock engine?

  • Forged pistons.
  • Premium ring set.
  • Tool steel pins, lightened.
  • Clevite bearings.
  • D.O.A. Racing Engines dual row timing conversion or L.S. chain conversion.

So just one or two things different :lmao:

22R life! How far can you go before the stock EFI can't handle it? I had a weber 38 on a 22R and there was an EFI replacement for that that would apparently work with the stock 22RE computer, but I never went to EFI.

We will need to manually adjust the air/ fuel ratio and its ready to run on the stock computer.

Engine swap!

Looking good Tom!

Hey I'm trying to remember which master cylinder you use in conjunction with your rear disc swap? I think it was for a 2 wheel drive if memory serves.

I couldn't see the part number on the box in the background.. I member you saying it worked really good.

I am running an FJ80 master with the 2wd proportioning valve.

Trail Rig Racing is now on Team Mickey Thompson. Time for the 35" Baja Boss.
