Race truck 4653

The Race at Disney, OK was awesome! Me and my co-driver did some good pre-running. During qualifying we cut a tire, got the ECU wet, the engine shut off and wouldn't start. U4 staff towed us off course and we got everything back together. Back to camp for more waterproofing and prep the truck for the 4600 race. We started the race in the back and headed towards the waterfall. There wasn't any traffic on our line so we got setup and winched up and out. The next big obstacle was Viagra. I jammed on the brakes on the way down and the truck got real sideways. We were able to drive out of it and continue to race. No more real issues during the rest of the race. We passed a bunch of broke cars and eventually took the checkered flag for another finish. This was a really great race with really great people.

How are DOA engines? I bought a short block from him and I'm finally assembling it, everything looked good on his part. Congrats on another finish!

That’s the spirit! Not sure of the racer opinion, but I like your class having its own separate race as opposed to lumped into the other EMC classes. Means actual coverage of your race.
At this one we’re racing with 4500 and 4800. So if you watch it’ll be the Brent Harrell and Woody Rose show. Nothing against those guys because they run up front, just that the front runners get the air time.

Truth on coverage and unfortunate nature of the beast.

That’s an unusual schedule but reckon that’s the only way to fit everything else into the weekend.

Pre-running was very eventful. I got the truck bound up coming down the waterfall and broke the right, rear axle shaft. We continued in 3WD to the next waterfall where I took a bad line and put the truck on to the passenger side. I was able to gas out of the flop and continue pre-running lol. The next event was when we got off course and rolled the truck down a 3' ledge. There was plenty of other racers on course to help us get back on the tires. We once again continued pre-running until the truck started to misfire and lose power. We pulled off course and found the plug wire holder came loose and burned a plug wire on the exhaust. We cleaned up the wires and made our way back to camp. I didn't have a spare shaft and no one at the track had a spare either. I was able to get an axle shaft from a guy not to far from the race course and plug wires from AutoZone. While I was gone the team got the axle torn down and ready for reassemble in the morning. We skipped qualifying to work on the truck and get ready for the main EMC race later that day.
