CarterKraft how bad is a wheel seal? Do these guys have axle problems/ wheel bearing issues?

Me being the dice roller is leaning towards the 600 and hope to get a good 8-10,000 more hours out of it. Currently I’m using a 35,000+ hour 20,000$ Kawasaki 115 :lmao:. I put over 5,000 hours on that 20k loader with little to no issues. She is definitely getting tired so an upgrade is needed. Especially with something that has parts support for.

Standard duo cone seal stuff, no oddities in the bearings that I am aware of.
I'll look real quick.

I cant imagine not having 4wd for those 5% chances.
lol I like to live on the edge. I’ll jump in my 89 suburban and have no fears taking it on a road trip. I was bombing through some pretty interesting woods trails the other weekend. Wife was getting nervous :lmao:.

I subscribe to the I'm smart enough I’ll figure it out club. And if not Im not afraid to go for a few mile run.

I could see rolling the dice on the 600. $100k gets you close to a rebuilt engine and transmission.
That’s just it they both could have a tranny go. 100k less is a really good start to a rebuild. I’ll have the dealer pull oil samples on the 600 and see what they say. I talked to the salesman who took it in on trade. Said they were using up until he dropped the 982 off. The operator hopped out and jumped into the cat.

The cat dealer just wants it out of their yard :lmao:

The $100k difference would be hard not to jump on especially since you aren't Komatsu scared.

That 988H for $200k seems pretty cheap too though so I have no idea.

I’m really not afraid of anything. Just need to have a good parts availability. Komatsu is better than most dealers for parts support. The komatsu dealer is 7 miles away from me, the cat dealer is across the highway from them.

They weigh the same but the 988 is 10 feet longer according to Richie specs? I would think assuming apples to apples having a more compact machine that has the same utility would be better than a larger one?

Yeah the 988 is really long. It has the mono boom on it. Being longer it would be tougher in the tight quarters set ups

Here's what a 988H trans quoted at last year. This one had 13k hours

Of some importance the cat will do better on fuel and will dig better according to our operators who ran a 600 while the cat was done.

imagine they saw the direction the wind was going and bought a bunch before they went nuts
I can't speak for anyone else but we tend to do business with places that keep what we need in stock. It might not be the cheapest but it being close enough I can get something at 2 pm on a Saturday in an emergency is worth a lot.

Freight also plays a part. I was talking with our crusher dealer and he said at certain volumes the freight is free from his suppliers. Even if it isn't, it costs $1k to ship a set of dies and $8k to ship a truck load it starts penciling out.

A haul truck showed up today. Fuck these things are huge :lmao:. Backing them up will take some getting used too. :lmao:

Those are gocarts once you get used to em. One set of mirrors lined up so you can just see the box side an one set so you can just see sidewalls an the ground yer runnin on. Then figure out what mirror to look at:laughing: Being able to sorta steer the mirrors makes things really nice when worming it into a stupid spot

Always surprised me how little fuel they used

Huge?

Nah, those are the lil fellas.

You'll love having one.

Where's the tailgate? It get fucked up when some dipshit layed the bed over? :flipoff2:
