Panzers: I break rocks thread

The only reason, lazy. The company doesn’t want the driver to get hurt either. (By helping)

That’s crazy. Don’t they know you already have a dozer to armor up? Seriously, will they let you fix something on the spot and not get the ticket? How much are the tickets?

That’s pretty cool of Sandvic.
Some times the inspector will just say get it fixed but most of the time you get a ticket. You are supposed to be keeping up with the stuff. According to them There is zero excuse this stuff shouldn’t work. Tickets are typically between 150 and 400 a piece for the minor ones. It’s all determined by some formula of the boxes he checks the size of the mine the pattern of violations ect.

How goes the demo on the new Sandvik jaw? you making lots of big rocks into small rocks?

Did you get the squarebody service truck home yet?
Yeah got a bunch of rock ran through the jaw. The sandvik boys got it running good. It has some level sensors on it to slow down the feeder based on the height of rock in the jaw. Talked to the r&d guy and he explained the logic to me. I am gonna do that to one of my jaws this winter. I can get the part numbers off the sensors to use on my jaw.

It’s pretty simple really one sensor is set at one height with a on delay relay. That sensor needs to be triggered for 3 secs to slow the feeder down to a minimum speed. The second sensor is set higher and when that one is triggered for 3 secs it stops the feeder completely. It keeps the jaw full but not too full. Pretty slick.

The square body service truck showed up at my buddies earlier this week. I took a look at it and it should work fine for what I do. He was messing with it because it has a miss which feels like it’s running out of fuel. Between him and the old school engine mechanic who works for him a day a week they will figure it out. As of yesterday evening they were still stumped.

Those sensors are nice..as long as everything else is on the same page.

Our cone had one...the jaw feeding the cone did not:homer:

i was convinced I had fuel issues on a Ford 300 on a wood chipper. sold it off that way, never figured it out, but i was convinced i had carb or fuel pump issues even though I'd gone thru/replaced both.

the new owner let me know he found the distributor had issues, even though I'd thrown on a new cap/rotor and timed it etc. not sure how he diagnosed it

The number % in white are ran of sonar the 2 grey boxes have 1 each, and the one at the cone is pointing into the cone, in auto the computer controls the feed rate.

Yeah they put a new distributor in and tossed a different carb on it and still runs the same. They will figure it out, they love those sbc. It’s probably the 700r4 locking up or something stupid like that making it feel like it’s a fuel issue.

Weren’t you looking for a 9’ lowboy? Talk this guy down some and get this big bastard.

Need a 26’ well for the haul trucks. Definitely want a 9’ or 10’ wide 55 or 60ton lowboy. Private group I’ll see if my wife’s fake fb account will get to join :lmao:

Yeah I would only put it on the jaw. My problem is the feeder over feeds it then the rock gets jammed up. Save some screwing off and hopefully increase productivity a bit.

Keep forgetting that yall do things different. Our guy on the hoe feeding the jaw had the remote, so he could bump up the speed of stop things if needed. Course the better he blended the rock the less he had to dick with that high tech shit:laughing:

Yeah we don’t feed with excavators :lmao:. Need to get shit done, we don’t get all year to play with it.
