What's new

Next on the ever growing list of things I didn't need.

fuck fuck fuck any 320s?
mid 70's 500's I think. Your welcome to look at the auction and see if there are any you need, I may be able to talk the scrappers out of them.

Another one that I bid on was this Model A... I hit it a $2000, went for $3250

Anyone recognize what model Jaguar this is? It brought over $9000 in this condition and no title.

yup, all a lot newer than the one I've got
that wagon is pretty neat, though it is probably best left as scrap

71-74 XKE, side marker lights next to headlights are the tell.
Not sure I agree. That's a Series 1. The hulk is worth way more than $9K. Even more if it is an early flat floor.

EDIT: Could be a Series 1 1/2.

 clown world.

Thats freaking scrap. I need to start shipping rust free vehicles to you guys. This is getting ridiculous.
with the condition of k-frame I ordered from AZ, I don't think I'll ever buy a serious used car outside of NM/AZ/TX again.

I stand corrected, dang tail lights. 3-series tail lights are under the bumper.

It is NOT scrap to the Jag community. Everything needed to restore that hulk is available and the VIN is the golden tuna.

On way home now. Will edit this later with explanations on pics. Make up your own stories for now.

I've always wanted to see a Forward Control on some decent sized solid axles. guess a unimog is sort of close.

Ok back at home now and not posting from my phone.. Load up was a cluster fawk. The place was a hoarders hole in the woods and muddy. It was a very long thin driveway in which everyone tried to get into at once. I parked on the street and walked in. My truck wasn't buried too bad but it had a few small trees that needed cut and a mobile home toter truck parked in front of it. Anyways with the paid help of a large tractor, it pulled out to where I could winch it on the trailer without much problem although my harbor freight 9000 lb winch sounds like it's about to give up. Paid and headed home, made it a mile before the jeep transitioned to identifying as a convertible. Picked up the roof and added extra straps to keep the glass in place. Then ate gas station jalapeño poppers and taquitos for lunch, drove the 100 mi home at 60mph or less to keep from losing other parts.

Inside is completish and the key is in the ignition. Frame looks mostly intact except a spring mount that gave up on the ride home. Going back out to remove the foliage that's still growing and attempt to open the doors. I have suspicions that the door hinges may be bluetooth. Will report back shortly.

Yes that was pretty much it. The auctioneer had no clue when I said i was there for the Forward Control.

After a level 1 tidy.... marginally less mousey and gross. Also did a temporary/permanent repair to the roof.

Current plans are to get the wheels free rolling, find a cheap/free set of tires that hold air, put some atf down the cylinders, then park it until a few other projects get more finished.

Could anyone tell me anything from the VIN plate?

I would have walked my ass right back out, after seeing it in person.

I have scrap price in the FC, It's sitting right where I dropped it off the trailer. Got a guy local to me that's building one and has one for parts. The parts one has a decent cab. Without a title I'm not going to go too nuts with it though. The FC can be yard art for a bit until I decide what route I'm going to take on it. The Olds looks to be a really solid, original car. Don't know how the mechanicals are on it but I'm itching to put a buffer to it and see how the paint looks afterwards. Picking it up this afternoon.

If all else fails, someone might pay you what you have into it to salvage parts for another build. Those are rare enough that any body/chassis part is worth something.
