What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

Local dealer has had 5 Lariats show up this week, 2 of them dually plus another dually that’s been there a few weeks.
I've been tempted to drop my order to a lariat with no led headlights but I don't like messing with a complete order and I think if they aren't able to build the upper trims that will really increase resale in 3-4 years.

I've heard they have 17% of the needed Quad Beam LED headlights to build trucks....

Holy shit I got my first correspondence from FoMoCo in 8 months.

As promised, we want to update you on the status of your Super Duty F-350 Platinum order. We are still experiencing delays due to the supply chain challenges that Ford and our industry are facing at this time.

Please understand that while getting your vehicle into production is taking longer than usual, we are doing all we can to minimize the delays.

There’s nothing we want more than to deliver your new Super Duty F-350 Platinum. We are fully committed to keeping you updated on your vehicle’s status, and will let you know as more information becomes available. We apologize for any inconvenience, and truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

I wouldn’t drop an order because of LEDS. I do 50%+ of my driving in the dark, order a truck, get what you want.

My truck is a Lariat ultimate, close to a Platinum without all the ridiculous badging.

Hopefully your truck will be rolling soon.

Yeah exactly, I wanted led headlights when I got the current truck but the price was right and it was available when I needed a truck.

A Lariat Ultimate is in my opinion a really awesome truck, it has everything one could want really.

The only caveat is if you add ALL the extras it is very close in price to a higher trim level truck with arguably less resale.

We'll see but I would honestly be happy with a LED headlight Lariat Ultimate.

I just wish they would let you get a standard tailgate without the fuckery on the one with the step and manpole

Granted my F-350 is 12 years old now but I love it because it has all the fancy options except tailgate step and a sunroof.

I love the step, as a short fuck going in and out the bed often, never use the pole though. Heated and cooled seats are nice but otherwise I would be happy with an xl truck. I end up getting mad at the touch screen on a daily basis(old man yells at cloud).

You seem awfully worried bout resale and speculating on something that doesn't exist.

I suggest putting in another order when this current order arrives. You might get it in that 3-4 year window.

Why is it surprising?

the USA welcomed socialism in with open arms… and now the idea that socialism means long lead times is some how surprising?????
I agree that the citizens in the US have embraced socialism
But I think the delay is due to the fact that the citizens and the govt moved every single factory to communist China .

You cannot build a vehicle without half of three quarters of the parts being made in China , or the materials the parts are made from , in the UAW shops, the materials come from or are processed in communist China .
NAFTA moved every factory to Mexico and then the fed gov and congress falling all over themselves to give China “most favored trade nation” status just moved every factory on earth to China .
Mostly so the Chinese can steal everyone’s intellectual property .

My 2019 lariat has the standard tailgate without the step, and it is honestly the only thing I regret not getting.

I really use and enjoy the tailgate step on mine too. I’m not short, just old, and it makes getting in and out of the bed much easier. Hell, I even got the under bumper step on mine too.

I'm not worried about anything.

I am trying to do my best to capitalize on a fucked up market.

I plan on ordering a new dually as soon as this one arrives and is completed.
My gut says they will not build this '22 model and it will roll over to '23 with the huge price increases they are is reporting.

If they offer PCOs for the carry over 22 orders I'll be in even better shape for resale and replacement with said second ordered truck arriving some time around 2024?

I still can't get over how they're struggling to deliver with customers willing to shell out that amount of money for their product, this is some third world type shit.

A buddy is a electrical contractor and needed to add two "trucks" this month.
It's a take it or leave type of deal when the trucks/vans come in from his dealer (GM vehicles).

Little ol me trying to pull my RV and run a tiny metal fab business is small potatoes.
But we are all fighting for the same equipment.

Look at 60s USSR, nothing new.

Farty hands was worth more used, than new due to supply/production.

And don't forget they will substancially raise prices on next year's models.

Edit: Which is the classic sales tactic of "scarcity".

Guessing mine arrive Friday, was on their website Saturday morning. Finally saw it parked behind the gate instead of the normal delivery lot Saturday afternoon. Still no call/no info from the dealer, walked past the gate to the body shop that it was parked next to, rear bumper pushed in, dents and obvious misalignment on the hood, and mud splatter everywhere. Guess we will wait for them to wrap that up and contact me. Gonna be an interesting visit at that point.

Go back and take pics before they claim nothing happened.
