What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

If course since I filled out that trade form I'm getting blown up with calls/texts from the nearest dealer.

His message... Your truck is hard to find, I'm confident I can beat the estimate the system gave you...

I explained the terms of my purchases and that I'm happy with the current dealer but if they don't play ball I'll hit him up.
He still said ordering a King Ranch 450 will be 8 months to a year...

Driving around town yesterday the lots are FULL, I haven't looked at trucks/trims to see what's out there.

Same here and things are sitting, none of the dealers seem to be cutting deals though. Have to assume they will start playing ball in the next 6 months in order to clear space for the 25s.

I explained the truck I was looking for, he has not found it yet, not sure if that's news or not.

With in all the dealers in 100 mile radius there is 1 diesel 450 in Lariat trim and 0 in king ranch or above.

There are 2 King Ranch and 2 platinum diesels

If the '25 KR will have massaging seats I'll be ordering one and this thread will go on for another 8-12 months :lmao:
And I'll sit here wishing I had a sweet new super duty and continue driving the 04 gmt800 because there is no way I'm paying 100k for a truck just to make my insurance go through the roof. I don't have a use case, I just want one :homer:

I may buy an AWD Ford transit soon though:lmao:

I get it... That was me 2000-2017 but I financed $36k for this $92k truck and if I get $75k+ on trade for this one I'll finance another $36k on a $102k truck.

That 2018 truck for $62k at 2.x % interest on a 60 month note put me in a kickass position.
It could be you guys too but you'll have to suck it up and write the $X,XXX checks for 36-48 months to get enough equity.

So you plan on having a truck payment for the rest of your life?

Or I could drive my paid off 17 truck and dump $x,xxx into my 5.25% savings account?

Your "equity" relies upon an overly engineered, overly complex $25k fuel system that has shown itself fully capable of grenading at the worst possible moment. And Ford will sit back and point the finger at you with a "fuck you, pay me" attitude.
$100k for a truck.....

Just.....wow.

White people problems.

You wouldn't understand because you're not a native Texan. :flipoff2:

That's probably it.

I put 30k, 10k in cash and a 20k trade in we inherited, down on my $55k used 2022 F350 and if it wasn't for the free trade in I wouldn't have even looked at buying a truck that new. I bought a DCR replacement injection pump for $2k (that I've yet to install because I'm a fucking slacker) and I'm positive this truck will last me a long time with normal maintenance based on the F550 I put 198k on before the CP4 cost my company a fuckton of money.

The rest of my life is hopefully a long time...
At this time where I'm RVing longer distances, running a small business and not daily commuting the $6xx/month payment is not a hindrance. I still make the full $980 payment I had originally just the difference goes into savings.

You remember when you lost near half the vehicles value when it was 3 years old?

I don't get how trading something in for less than you bought it for is building equity, but I'm not very good at monthly payment bro math. :flipoff2:
In my case the ideal trade in IS the same as what I paid for it $79,600 in this case.
At the 3 year mark I will owe $13,200 and I intend to buy the new truck at a reduced price say $95k so I'll be financing $28,640 and in 3 more years I will be driving a $102k truck that's paid for.

We'll see how this works, I've been pretty transparent. This thread was supposed to be about fucked up Covid car market not financial advise.

If he was sarcastic the easy way to fix it is to trim the valance back to the 2wd size, about 2" more clearance.

Yep. My 19 srw sat ridiculously high in the rear stock

on a Ford? i don't believe you.

ford makes the f250-350 sit level from the factory because thats what consumers want, and 98% aren't and will never have more than 500lbs in the bed, or never tow a trailer.

its why when you see all the Ford's with any trailer or a payload, they're squatting heavy in the rear. my ctd 3500 srw has the most rake of any HD truck ive seen the last 10 years
