What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

I love the tailgate step but just step on the tire like a normal person, I was 50/50 on the tailgate step when it came out but I would always want one after having it. If the side step was optional or folded away I’d be for it but it just looks so horrendous.

Hate the bed/bumper steps all you want, they are handy as shit.

I’d love to have them on my 12. Even at 32, in good shape, climbing up a tire to get in the bed to release the pin or hook/unhook safety chains on the gooseneck sucks. It’s an injury waiting to happen, especially in the rain/snow.

They are, for the 5% of us who use our trucks for truck things. The other 95% say "dem steps be ugly and shit".
Or just step on the tire because we're not old geriatric fucks :flipoff2:

I'll concede that if I worked as a tradesman in and out of the truck all day id like them more now that stock truck bed sides are like 5' from the ground :blackflipoff2:

I loathe them. I remove my tailgates to much. The newer transformer shit weighs too damn much and has wires :rainbow:

I’m in and out of the bed usually once a day sometimes 20 plus times. The tailgate step makes it easy even if your parked on uneven ground, they also give you the option not to have it. I’ve only pulled the tailgate twice I think, all bumper pulls here. Backup cameras are nice, no way I could get within 3 inches of stuff without the camera and sensors, need as much space as possible with a cclb in tight city environment.

most of the dealers in my area have come off the “market adjustment” bullshit. Big SUV’s and 3/4-1T trucks are still full sticker.

1/2T are where the current deals are in my area (eastern Nebraska).

The steps are ugly. The bed steps do nothing because I still have a hard time swinging my leg over the dually fender with the rail of the tonneau cover on it. Now, without the cover, it'd be fine. Still, the tailgate step is much more handy for how I use my truck and that's the one thing I didn't order on the damn thing. 5 gallon bucket I usually keep in the bed works fine though.

Headlights and grille are eh. I don't like that the 360 cameras, or something using them I forget what, go to a subscription model for the '24s. I think the '22s are the perfect blend of tech and style, but I'm partial of course. I get that you pay for XM, but that's the radio and they're providing content, so you're paying for that content. The fucking cameras are functional pieces on the truck that you already paid for. Paying to keep them working is retarded.

They had to do the step in the rear bumper because they realized the totally screwed up the rear bumpers on 17+. Hey lets build a factory monster truck, and then raise the bumper by the tail light even more. Now lets put some slippery plastic on it and make the spot where your foot goes when the tailgate is down really tiny.

If you're that in and out of the bed look at that drop down step I linked, makes life easy.

New balances don't grip on the tires like they used to

Pretty satisfied with my 7.3 truck so far as well. Only put 1700 miles on it since I got it early last month, It rarely gets used for anything but towing.
Hand calculated 9.9-10.2 towing and with very limited commuting 12.8. 3.73 gearing FWIW.
It's no late model diesel with 1000 FT/LB. But it reminds me of the 2003-2006 era of diesels powerwise.

Those are some sweet wheels. :smokin:

Too bad CK doesn't have those. He got stuck with the ugliest wheels in the history of mankind.

I'm trying to get set of those in 17" for my new f350 that has the steel wheels and it seems to be an impossible mission. Alcoa only makes them in 19.5" for my truck and I'm not buying 6 new wheels/tires at about $5k. The factory Dodge dually wheels look decent but I'm not sure of the bolt pattern vs my 22 Ford. If all else fails I may end up with a set of factory take offs like CK has. :emb4:

Truth!

Oh, and I joined the party on Saturday and picked up a new to me 2022 F350 to drag my racecar trailer around.....

Congrats!

If you bought the 20" dually rims I linked too you could get a set of 20" take off tires from a F250/350 and only have to buy 2 new for the front.
I sold my '18 take offs for $600 I think so keep your eyes open you should be able to find some.

I found these on FBMP for a reasonable price and might go that route. Basically buy 6 tires and get the wheels, lug nuts and center caps for $500. Not a horrible price and they look better than the steelies and lame factory tires it has now.

I'm too white to be rolling around on 20's.

19+ ram dually trucks went to the same 8x200 pattern and pilot as 05+ Ford.

I found a set of just the 4 aluminum wheels for a good enough price I would have grabbed them but they were 7 hours away. Most other guys are asking $2500-3500 for take off tires and wheels :homer:

I think I'm going to just scuff the wheels up and paint them some type of dark gray. Maybe add the lugnut covers?
