What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

Decided to get away from emissions era diesels to be honest. Mine has been trouble free. But I read and hear about quite a few of fuel system failures that get costly, quickly.
I also have a great job, no kids and way far up the Dave Ramsey baby step process. He wouldn't bitch about it either.

so you went to a 7.3 gas, assuming?

Fixed 10k gvwr package on the '23 450 standard output? Can't uncheck it.

A new way to force HO or just a bug?

Has to be a bug. My truck curbs at over 8K and I don't have a backseat. You and 3 of your buddies in that truck might be over GVW if it was 10K.

I agree bug.
I'll try a HO and see.

It is a option though just didn't make sense to be mandatory.

Tried a HO no change still mandatory, reported it.

You sure that just not the rear rating.

That would be a badass option for every hotshotter out there.
The option is a normal option on the SD, allows the poor bastards in NY and wherever get a "commercial" truck for non commercial use by derating the GVW.

I have no idea what it means on the 450 and it doesn't say. "Fixed 10k GVW"

Nice truck BTW.

It would also make registering an F450 in Texas for private use cheaper too. My service truck is registered that way but holy fawk was it expensive to do!

here and my old pickemup is door tagged at 11k but plated at 15k
because all the noncommercial plates cost the same, 10,12 and 15, so why not get the 15, trailer can only be 10k, but it's plated at 15k too, dunno about the legality of that but we'll find out when we find out

I'm in (non CDL) class A territory pulling my bumper pull, I figure I'm just gonna play real dumb and plead mercy on the court :homer:

My ccsb with two adults, 3/4 tank of fuel, 82% Def, small bit of gear (50-80#?) weighed in at 8640# on the scales today.

I imagine a dually with same load would be closer to 9600#?

What the fuck is this nanny bullshit in this F150 rental I have?

It's a fucking pizza box...... :shaking:

Every time I get the urge to sell my 97 and buy a new truck I'm reminded why that's a horrible idea.
You can turn the nanny off, didn't that get mandatory approval in one of those trillion $ bills the .gov passed?

The car should mind its fucking business. If I want to leave pizza or an occupant back there that's my decision. Fuck this truck!
Its got rear seat belt minders too, handy feature for kids that can't learn to cheat properly

My 2012 dually with half a tank, 2 people in the cab and no gear is 9180

In the back of my mind I've wanted to order a basic F450 regular cab dually with a 7.3 to replace my 97 but I'm still not convinced.

Info like this doesn help the case either. :lmao:

Hope you want a cab and chassis. My wife just had to have the 450 once she drove it. I didn't want the diesel but wanted a happy wife so that's what we ordered. I wanted to order a 450 with 7.3 gasser but it's not available in the "pickup" version, just derated C&C. I didn't want to deal with a bed conversion.

450 pickup with the 7.3 mildly breathed on would be a sweet rig.

I wouldn't be mad at a single cab version of this with a 7.3. Pickup beds and dually fenders are overrated.

Have y'all actually driven any of the newer single cab pickups? They're cramped as fuck with how big all the interior shit is on everything now. I wouldn't touch anything without at least an extended cab anymore.

I know all the manufactures have their issues and I have been a Ford guy for a number of years but with some of the issues people talk about on current Fords I would have to look seriously at a Ram with the Cummings. :flipoff2: In my opinion in the past Ford has the much nicer interiors but Ram has come a long way and their top trims are pretty nice and possibly nicer than a Ferd. If I am spending all that cashola I am going full CarterKraft with the top trim. :smokin:
