What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

I said in the 7.3 thread I ordered my F450 in October and it's going to be delivered after first of the year. I told them I couldn't take delivery before then so they have been holding it until after the first. And the dealer I ordered from did not require a deposit.

Truck arrived in February. Not bad for a brand new truck.

Checked in to the KOA today in San Antonio for the livestock show.

My neighbor has my EXACT same truck so we were BSing and he ordered his new one in October and it's been scheduled and cancelled twice. He's hoping to get it in 6 month time frame.

I am starting to think my order isn't going to happen due to the '23 model year change...
Not sure how that works if they cancel my order or just fill it as a '23.

Just saw they are shutting down lines now due to “supply chain“ issues. I ordered my F350 two months ago and haven’t gotten a VIN or production date yet. I figure I‘ll see it in June if I’m lucky. I dropped the options that they are saying are delaying production too, factory spray in liner and 5th/goose package.

I really wanted the 5th wheel prep on this one... Getting that locally will be much more expensive.

I installed a B&W turnover GN in mine. Was stupid simple to do.
Really wanted the OEM one, but hard to find these days.

Mine was submitted 12/16/2021. No updates yet. I did order the gooseneck package and spray in liner.

My dad has the spray in liner, it's not super impressive compared to my locally done liner. At the volume the dealership gets it seems to easy just have that done locally.

I don't need the gooseneck hitch so no real problem but for the $500 price of admission I was going to add it.

I won't buy one w/o the prep package... if for no other reason than cheap insurance.

Sometimes, though, very hard to find.

Agreed and I figured one of the reasons I got such a good deal on this current truck when I bought was it didn't have it so maybe it got picked over.

My buddies truck is in production ordered 10/06/21

I tried to order a F-250 tremor and they wouldnt even let me order one.

Yeah the banks got closed to allow them to "catch" up.
I am now planning on ordering a '23 when the banks open.

All order banks for the 2022 model year SD's closed on April 1st. If you didn't order it prior to that you have to wait until they open the 2023 MY orders later this fall.

Current rumor mill says Sept/Oct for 2023 order blanks to open with production beginning sometime Q2 2023.

If that winds up being true, if you want a new Ford you're roughly waiting 1 year from now for delivery if you order one when they allow it.

I tried to order a Raptor and was turned away. They wouldn't take a deposit, I tried.

That made me feel better about keeping my order. This problem is going to get worse, just in time to sell my '18.

x2.

I just need to test drive a 7.3.

I'd rather have a Ram, but the 7.3 is supposed to be tits.

Ram 6.4 is 410/429. Ford is 430/475. Ford wins by 20/46.
go find a motorhome dealer nearby, drive a 7.3 in one of their class A's.

don't think they have the 10 speed in them currently, but it will give you an idea about how it does with 20k lbs

I have my 2022 cclb lariat with the 7.3, 4.30 gears, sparay in bed liner and gooseneck hitch for sale. 1200 miles. Asking 77k for it. Long story short the dealership ordered me an 8ft bed when I need a 6 3/4 to fit it in my garage. My new truck is being built next week. Its race red also. Ill try and post a pic or two of it.

I remember when the 7.3 came out I was comparing it to the power stroke of the same size and the gasser had as good numbers across the board with a wider power band than the diesel.
