What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

Exist, absolutely. Baseline? Nope. People made it sound like you can't get a decent truck off the lot for less than $70k.
I think you can still get a really nice diesel XLT under $70k, LAriat and up will push it for diesels.

That's a bad ass timeline.
He said I should have ordered in August, 4-6 weeks then.

A buddy just bought a High Country 2500 Chevy and they told him they are not making Duallys at all. No idea how long that would last.

True story. The Ford dealer in Carson City sent me a message that they would buy my 2018 Dually back for more than I paid because of all of the delays.

Ordered our F450 Reg Cab XLT in June, picked it up Nov 12th, wife ran over a fence on Nov 13th... Funny, not funny...

Shipping company dinged a wheel so the dealer ordered a new one which took a month, tire shop (that's a mess) fucked that wheel up so they have to order another one...

I've read where Ford is going to go custom order for most of their production. Probably only ever have a handful of vehicles on the lot to test drive.

If anything, that's just showing you how bad of a hit the dollar bill took since then.

Partially. It's more that there is a huge demand for trucks out here in the Mountain / West and there are none to be found. The dealer has ZERO Super Duties in stock. There are only 7 in transit right now.

When I bought mine in 2018 there were at least a hundred Super Duties on this specific lot (it's one of those massive dealers in NV because it's in the Capital so the sales tax is lower).

A friend of mine sold his super loaded ultra platinum (massaging seats, vibrating dildo, the whole 9 yards) back to the dealer for like $12k more than he bought it for 2 years before. This was almost a year ago when things were still heating up. Can't imagine what they're doing now.

I think ya'll are reaching on these $100k trucks, what's $7k between friends?
This a high 80k's truck retail not 100K
This truck is loaded with al options but no bullshit overpriced accessories.
I am not sure you can even get this truck at all though because it has Adaptive steering standard and that is a no-go option.
No bed liner, no hitch shit, get both locally.

Dang, my payment is 2k a month no trade in. And I have 0% interest. I’m guessing it must be a length of payment difference.

Its everyone, hence used prices.

Fun fact, the deposit means nothing. You didnt buy anything, nor have they offered you a service. Just mind games to keep you from shopping around.
Close, but not fully true

Let's say you order an extremely odd combination of options (Red truck, Green interior, etc), then the dealer can legally keep that deposit (at least here in Washington) if you decline to follow thru with your purchase. It all hinges on whether the dealer is able to sell it for fair market value or not. In all my years in the business, I've only seen this happen once or twice, as it's generally not worth the hassle and frustration.

The dealers don't care (that I have experienced) about ordering custom, I don't really get anything crazy so they could sell it no problem.
I don't get FX4 ($400) and add skid plates ($100) = $300 sticker...

Rapid heat with dual 397 amp alternators, 3.55 LS, thats about it. Lower trims require much more option selections

Not sure, I didn't fuck with that estimator tool but here is what is in those fields.

Just like GM, I only stepped into an AT4 because the max tow package in an SLT was just right off the price of an AT4 and I got everything it had plus a little with better resale for just a couple thousand more.

About time! I've never gotten how you'd spend new-car price on something randomly-equipped.

My buddy got told this from a dealer who had no inventory and when they found the truck he wanted they asked $5k over MSRP, this was to a 15+ year fleet customer. He called a buddy who owns a underground utility contractor who his dealer hooked my friend up with the exact truck $5k under MSRP...

I think that game of "we're not going to stock trucks, only made to order" only works as long as they ALL do that. The first dealership that has inventory and can sell trucks today will fuck that up. IMO

I see it now. 60 months. Plus a down payment. I’m 30 months, no down payment. Tried to trade off a camper but they just wouldn’t give me enough for it.

Exactly, the AT4 is a pretty awesomly equipped truck.

That's my setup, paid 63K for a '18 Lariat Ultimate DRW 6.7, have a cash offer now of $66k but it won't be good by the time the new truck comes in.
am slightly nervous about truck values at that time but the consensus is it will be equal or worse than now.

I hope to have $45k in equity at time of new truck swap.

why a f350 over a f450?
It's a sore subject. I want 450, turning radius and giant brakes, I don't want 19.5 tires (rough as fuck) and I don't want 4.30 gears.
A buddy wants a 450 to put 20"-37's on, i don't do to lifts/tires for towing so I am out on that deal.
My current truck is a 4.10 truck and I don't enjoy the cruise RPM and unloaded fuel mileage.

I might miss the gear ratio towing, but with the 10 speed I hope it flattens the gap.

Fun fact on the previous years 17-19 the 450 has less "on paper" towing capacity than the 350 due to curb weight difference.

Final drive ratio between the current and new truck? The 10-speed is okay, but it won’t make up for final drive, IMHO.

I went 450 over 350 for the higher bumper pull ratings. Gooseneck the 350 can tow more. Once I get my dump truck wired and plumbed I am going to get a 26k trailer and want to be able to put it behind either truck.
