What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

I never hated the WT mats when I had them but everytime I would vaccum the carpet there was a shit ton of stuff between the mat and the carpet.

The husky mats are almost $100 cheaper and I can't really see a reason to pay more at this point.

I'll definitely look at them next time around.

I bought huskies for my '13 f-150, 9 years and still flat around the edges. My previous trucks had weathertechs and i was less than thrilled.

That’s not a real representation of a Texas average. Your truck needs some obnoxiously wide rims with discount brand 37” tires, and an average speed of 83 mph to obtain that.

:flipoff2:

That is fairly impressive for a crew cab dually.

Did I miss the hand calc mileage without lying?

Not sure if that is directed at me or not... I am saving fuel receipts though so I should be able to get a decent average soon.

its not a shot at you, just trying to figure out what your actual mileage is. The lie-o-meter giving range info on a brand new truck isnt doing much. my truck adjust the range based on the last tanks of diesel so its a shorter range when i run a few tanks and a heavy loaded trailer, then it takes a tank unloaded to adjust to me running without a trailer.

i just wanted a real MPG calc and hadnt seen it yet.

Gotcha, I reset the MPG counter at 9 miles when I left the dealership.
I will save the receipts and I might make a Fuelly account to help me with this task

To be clear I am not saying this fuel mileage (if accurate) is good, I am saying it is much better than my previous truck for the possible reasons I mentioned.

My sons '03 Ram 2500 5.9 Auto gets in to the 20's in the same conditions, I think that is good but we all know why a '03 would get better mileage than a '22.

Here are my 6 year old Husky Liners. Still fit just about perfect.

I run Rough Country mats. I won't install any of their suspension stuff, but accessories I've been happy with. Mats and seat covers.

I’ve got husky’s in my 01. They’ve held up really well. They have a raised edge on the threshold. It catches pretty much all the mud water and crud off my boots. Can’t complain for twenty years and still in one piece.

im skeptical of that, as i had an 05' with the nv5600 and best i EVER got was maybe 17-18 if i kept it under 70 mph on the highway. your son has to have the 3.73 rear end right? when i moved to the 2017 Ram with the AIsin, im still seeing 18-20 unloaded, but its also got 3.42 gears in the rear and a transmission built to pull a battleship out of the harbor.

i dont want to call you a tall tale teller, but id guess your son got close to 17 mpg and i would also guess your new Ferd get close to 17 mpg. the advancements in gearing and transmission technology are cancelled out by the emissions stuff.

just my opinion, dont shoot me too many times over it.

555s historically get better mpg than 610s. The 3rd ejection phase and the retarded cam profile did nothing to help.

So less mpgs, but better for the golden cheek warbler!

I've made a habit of keeping receipts and writing odometer numbers on each receipt. Part of me thinks it will be helpful data if i ever have to deal with a fuel system issue...

I'm probably just naïve, but... maybe?

good luck to you. i can't get a regular gas receipt to be readable after 18 months. unless you are storing in a climate controlled, high security walk-in vault with precise barometric pressure and humidity regulation, i think you are going to have a bad time.

maybe you can laminate and shrink down to have on a ring binder type closure?

Its 2wd drive if that matters, I'm just going off what he tells me of his daily commute.
If I saw 18-20 in my '18 Ferd I would shit, probably sell it cause I figured it was broken...

2wd??? I didn't even know they stillm ade those. :flipoff2:

2016 best ever, hand calculated, 21.3mpg...
2021 best ever, hand calculated, 20.2mpg. Lie-o-meter has often hit 20 avg in ECO mode. Currently says 18.2 avg over last ~2k miles.

They don't, but they did in 2003 :lmao:
These 20+ mileage numbers were not remotely possible in my '18.

i had one 12 v that got 20.8 pulling a trailer

my 19 duramax never did 17 mpg. i had one 12v that was a fluke, 23 mpg, most of the others 17-19.

Also I put Husky X act fit floor mats in it.
I wanted weathertech again cause America but I really didn't like how the weathertechs didn't lay flat around the edges, the tan ones I got in my '18 where also badly discolored from I don't know what.

I had heard about Husky liners but figuring they where China so I ruled them out but looking on their website it turned out they are made in Kansas and they have the x-act fit line is a softer material than the TPO I had before.

Got them in the truck and the wife and I both like them alot more than the weathertechs.

Here's a picture of the old ones, shitty rear pic
