What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

And where, prior to this, did you say you had to have seating for 4-5 people?

That is why I specifically worded my statement as "A good amount of people, yes. Those who only put 2 people in the cab and don't "need" 4WD have passed over this option needlessly for years."

Given the scope of the thread "New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?" I wasn't trying to solve a towing problem, just stating due to scamdemic that the truck market is in a tough patch.

I am fully aware as to the genius of vans, and their niche, Regency Conversions etc. but to suggest a cut away van is solution to pompous prick such as my self who ordered a truck with massaging seats would dare be seen in a cutaway van, you don't know me very well. :dustin:

They don’t get it dude, they don’t do what we do. So they can’t even imagine needing what we need. It’s GCC, every thread gets derailed with suggestions not considering all the parts of your equation.

I just flew from Albuquerque NM to greenbay Wisconsin. Rented a crew cab shortbed pickup to drive to the track. I needed to be able to haul 5 adult people. 4 37 inch tires. A jack. Quick dump fuel cans. Tools. Fire extinguisher’s. Etc. 1 round trip ticket, and to rent a pickup for 4 days cost me more than a months truck payment plus full coverage insurance for a better truck would have.

Don’t let people who do nothing convince you that you’re doing something wrong.

I feel the same way reading through. Towing 10k miles per year to and from the racetrack or wheeling with the 40’ gooseneck and my F350 DRW. Not happening in a van. Diesel dually pickup is about the only option, and fuck if I don’t want to do it in relative comfort too.

Agreed, my bet is with the upcoming (base model) price increase on the '23 model year I will be sitting (in a Covid shitbox) with all the options at really advantaged price point to keep or resell in 3 years.
It's a gamble, I will concede.

mine got moved back twice.
Mine officially got moved back and then forward to original, and then didn’t make it that week and waited until after the 2 week shutdown.

The November date is real crazy. Gonna be surprised if it shows up before ‘23.

Decided to pass on my Lariat CCLB SRW 7.3. Still sitting on the dealer lot 2 weeks after they fixed the transport damage. Repairs look good, and weren’t the primary factor. Having bought a Dodge manual dually flatbed and a Raptor during the wait, it’s tough to give those up to end up almost net zero.

The word on the street is the '23 model year is going to be very limited production to get caught up before the '24 launch.

'23 Orders Oct 17th, production to start I think January '23... If that holds.

'23 Production will probably run to what, August before it kicks over to '24?

My bet, and it's a complete guess, is '22 production will probably be delayed and run to February to catch up. '23 production won't begin until April and they'll close the '23 order banks about that time in order to get it back on track for '24 retool if the hybrid system makes the '24 model.

I heard '23 production will end in June.
I hadn't heard about a SuperDuty hybrid system, I need to look into that.

just saw this.

I saw that too, there is a Tremor right there on the fence, that is probably a high Trim level truck, not the XL's I have been thinking make the majority of these trucks.

At this rate they will have the new fleet of vehicles for the 87,000 IRS agents. :flipoff:

Starting Sept 26th, F150's and SD's will be shipping without their badges (Lariat, XLT, etc.) Unsure which exact ones. Probably all of them.

There is NO way I would order a truck right now. So glad we put our order in and got out truck before all this bullshit.

INFORMATION
Product Offering Changes: 22MY F150 & Super Duty Temporary Exterior Vehicle Badges

ACTION REQUESTED
  • Please be advised of certain 2022MY F-150 and Super Duty trucks being shipped with temporary and/or missing exterior badges due to a supplier shortage.
  • Customers will be required to sign an acknowledgement letter, notifying them of the temporary and/or missing badges prior to vehicle sale.
SUMMARY
Due to a supplier shortage of exterior vehicle badges, some 22MY F-150 and Super Duty vehicles will be shipped and can be sold to customers with temporary or missing badges. Temporary/missing badges will not impact the vehicle performance in a functional capacity. Some vehicles may have temporary fender vent badges, or missing side door badges and/or tailgate badges. Not all trucks will have the same number of temporary badges and/or missing badges. All temporary badges will be molded in color black.
  • F150 - Temporary F-150 badges could include both side fender nameplate/trim badges (e.g., F-150/XLT). Missing badges could include both door powertrain badges (e.g., PowerBoost), XLT Texas/Oklahoma badge and/or EcoBoost badge on tailgate, and/or King Ranch badge on tailgate.
  • Super Duty - Temporary Super Duty badges could include both side fender nameplate/trim badges (e.g.,F-250/Lariat). Missing badges could include both door powertrain badges (e.g.,6.7L Power Stroke), and/or King Ranch badge on tailgate.
Ford plans to restore all missing badging for all impacted 22MY F-150 and Super Duty customers.

Customers will be required to sign an acknowledgement letter, notifying them of the temporary or missing badges prior to vehicle sale.

Customers will be given a $50 VIN specific incentive claimed through SmartVincent.

TIMING
It is anticipated that impacted vehicles will begin arriving beginning the week of September 26, 2022.

We are currently projecting that finished badges will be available within the next six months. However, due to supply constraints, further delays to this timing could occur.

In October, a Field Service Action (FSA) will be sent with further instructions regarding availability of finished badges.

When the badges are available, dealers will be instructed to inspect the affected vehicle for any missing badge(s), remove any temporary badge(s), and install new badge(s) in the proper location(s). Dealers will use the current workshop procedures.

CUSTOMER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM
A signed Customer Acknowledgement Form is required documentation for customers taking delivery of any impacted vehicle.

Signed copies of the form must be maintained by the selling dealer in the vehicle deal jacket.

A copy of the form is attached and will also be available to download through SmartVincent and on FMCDealer.
