What's new

New Bronco reports

Why do you think you have 5 lightly used?
I think they are new and didn't sell, so they were devalued and marked as used. That is my guess, anyway. The highest mileage is a little over 1k, the rest are between 3 miles and 935 miles.

If you go play around on build and price you may find that by the time you add sasquatch and any other options to a lower trim, you may be at or even past the price of a Badlands that gets you the good running gear, and has the pretty trick sway bar disconnect. And let's be honest, the goodyears that come on the sasquatch package are pretty terrible.

For reference, I paid $48k for our Badlands with the 2.3/manual, high package, modular steel bumper, and the optional beadlock capable wheels. I just built a Black Diamond, 2.3/manual, mid package, modular bumper with sasquatch and it came out to $53k. And that's no disconnect, no camera package, and the 8" screen.

Have you steered all the way to full lock with the front locker engaged, and given it even a moderate amount of "gas" (not on sand paper rocks out west of course, where it most likely is not needed). Many on the 6G board claimed you should "never do that", and claim Ford engineers told them so.

I would be spinning all 4 on sloppy east coast terrain, within some reasonable limit, and I will be sawing wheel lock to lock if required. I'm still not sure if the 6G is stout enough to handle that. The 4 times I went wheeling last year, did not see one 6G bronco yet, so I have not seen any in live action. Hopefully more out there this year.
The only time I've given her the goose full locked with front locker is in the snow. Nothing broke, but I wouldn't do it with on dry rocks.

I have, on dry rocks with soft 35’s and dumb offset wheels. I didn’t care if It broke though because I was going to be doing a real build on it anyway. Everything but the housing from the rack out of mine can be seen here

Also the gaps between the loops could be a visual alignment indicator (L-R on conveyor line), or a place to drop a guide block at the beginning.

My guess for the seperate "rings" and "slots" vs a half piece of pipe is that they have a matching set of slider blocks underneath for the track to go on, or it's so that they can get the ends closer to each other if they have multiple sections of track butted up to each other (ie: the "tabs" on one match the "slots" on another).

OK thanks. I would not do it on dry (high traction) rock either, unless it is spinning with almost no throttle already, then I might heat up tires a bit.

WOW!! Think I'm way too old for that stuff. This the highest I get off the ground (and I make weird faces doing it)

I need to fly. I don’t do drugs, my addiction is flying through the air. That’s not me in the pic but I’ve got plenty of pics enjoying a short flight.

I was looking for it on fords site and couldn't find it again. That was from the day the Bronco was announced. It's outdated now, but is still a decent reference for most trims. Doesn't include the Hoss and steering upgrades on Wildtrack, or the special edition trims, and of course Braptor.

I hear ya, we all need our fix. No where near jersey to "fly" trucks really. Most towns have quads or even ex military hummers now,
so the "good" old spots are now off limits. This was a quarry in central jersey we used to hit.

That was the most I got off the ground with only 9" lift and 44" boggers.

Mildly sorry for continuing the hijack............

Keep in mind the Badlands also has the sway bar disconnect. Not a deal breaker, but nice to have.

I hear ya, but I suspect that would be the easiest thing to swap in (assuming FORSCAN cooperates), vs a 2.7 or auto.
I've also considered just a wrecked 2dr (whatever is cheapest) and use the Dynatrac 9 housings I have, with 2.73 gear and
406 portals (I also have lying around). Was never sure just how strong a 9" gear set would be run backwards though.
Would give me a 5.35 overall, and I think I could even make the front work with the IFS.

But, that kind of goes against the " I don't want another full on build"

I'm not aware of anyone that has been able to add the factory stabilizer bar disconnect.

They make sweet Portals $$$ for the Bronco. Nice thing is you get a lot of lift while maintaining correct geometry.

That’s also more expensive to accomplish than any IBB GCC whiner I’ve ever met is willing to pay for.

I picked up a base 4 door for MSRP under $40k. I had Mojave take off's on the jeep ( i sold to Carvana ) with good 285/ 70r17 that I am swapping on to a set of Badlands optional fake locks.

I have no false ideas that I am going to wheel this thing, I have other vehicles for that.

I had just bought the jeep off lease a few months ago then the instrument cluster failed, jeep told me no eta and 5 weeks out of warranty.

I have a set of gladiator Mojave Wheels available cheap if anyone needs a set.

Just repriced and base with 2.7 and SAS was 46, badlands is now 49 (and no auto, the woman doesn't drive stick)
SAS on base is now $7340:eek:

iirc it was $4500.00 for the package when we ordered our Base Squatch.

I really wanted that, but it was another $10K for the badlands and we didn't want all the extra fluff.

Surprised that Ford didn't include that in the Squatch package, which is basically Ford's Rubicon package.

I've been eye-balling a Rubicon electric sway-bar set-up that's in the corner. Held it up under the Bronco and it looks pretty close. Also heard from Rock Jock 4x4 that they had a customer swap in a JK Anti-Rock into his Bronco, so it is feasible.

They hold up real well, just make sure you get a flipped pinion support or do the flipped pinion support mod. JR did a nice write-up on the other board.

Anti rock is probably what I would go for, new bronco has enough electronics.

Is that flipped as in oiling?

I have a badlands disconnect swaybar for sale. You interested? Don’t ask me a price just make me an offer on it for what it would be worth to you.

Yeah. problem is I have all the other stuff. Front/rear housings with 406 "ends" on them already, one aftermarket 3rd case with 35 spline ARB,
at least two sets of 406 portals (was "collecting" 406 stuff for a while).

Custom CV's would be some money, but I suspect I would break the stockers eventually anyway. Might have to build custom A-Arms to use 406 knuckle, but still all cheaper than 20 grand (at least that is what they want for the one's from Ukraine). I would also have spare portal boxes that way. If I'm going that far, might as well go solid axle.

Are the one's above 6" drop, thought I read they were 4.5"

Specs say 3.88". I'm not sure if there are other options.

We’re rounding up to 4” but yes, 3.88 for the ones I have.

So, quick change gears spaced far enough apart for idlers? QC gears are 3.5 CC.
Are they actually off the shelf QC gears?

I've always thought it would be a cool idea to build some portals using them but always figured they'd be too light duty for anything the size of a Bronco.

There are multiple ratios available, although they don’t go as deep as I’d like (for crawling). For the 4 gear portals they only have 3 ratios available currently. 1.22:1 1.45:1 and 1.63:1. They’re marketing the 1.22’s to the Trail crowd and the other ratios to the race crowd. I don’t know about quick change parts, if I was to guess I’d think more like SCS drop box stuff.
