What's new

My visit to the E.R....

Something else that I didn't mention before...

I've been having a gurgling sound and feeling in my chest for a couple of months or so now. I thought that it was indigestion but now I'm not so sure.

Could be a shitload of things, really.

Reflux w/ underactive stomach sphincter, oesophagitis, (doubtful of that 1) but mediastinal uptake of acid is a good maybe.

I'm going to have to write all of this shit down. I get nervous and forgetful when talking to people ftf.

You'll be fine. The last thing a doctor wants to see and hear is a google cowboy coming into his office with all this noise.

Let them do their thing. It's not like you're going to get an appt this year, unfortunately. And if you don't care for the shitbird that eventually sees you, welcome to the club.

google cowboy
I understand that, and try not to be:homer:.

It's like when I show up to a service call, I want to know the problem you are having. If you have test results, that's great, I'm running my own anyways. I'm not going to base my final decision and recommendations to fix the problem on someone else's diagnostic results. After all, if they found the problem, then why didn't they solve it?

I started getting a bad headache at 11:30, I took two aspirin and went to sleep. I just woke up to no headache but it is starting to come back, but not as bad.

Just writing this down, so I don't forget.
Probably not related at all, but have you tried/add to the daily routine dedicated shoulder and neck stretches?

Just standing up straight and rolling the head from side to side etc and moving arm to full extension up and out and arm circles?

Promoted circulation if nothing else, takes les than 5 minutes in the morning

No I have not. I do roll my neck and stretch my arm up throughout the day, just not on any kind of schedule.

I did try go get something for my daughter off of the top of her canopy princess bed yesterday, I started getting dizzy so I stopped doing that :homer:.

I haven't done anything to get my heart rate up since this all started, I'm a little gun shy about it now.

Just saw this, hope you are good man!

Didn't read everything but simplest and ideal situation would be congestion induced vertigo, if you're over 40 BP meds will probably be in your future super common, I'm waiting for that call lol.

Do you know how your pulse was? My sis had a crazy high pulse and ended after heart check she has one part of her heart pumping the wrong way sometimes (forget the name) I do know most of this shit gets serious only if you don't jump on it. If you can't get a doc, just go to ER and say what you need to for heart scan.

Good luck and don't croak yet, too many old timers here have wives that'll sell us their stuff cheap after they croak and you don't want to miss that:flipoff2:

Edit: I'm sure it's been. Mentioned but these are all symptoms of dehydration too, usually separate though. I am not a dr:homer:

Over 40? Man... I'm only 33

I don't know what it was, I was still pretty out of it when the nurse was telling me the results.

I'm sure it's in the notes, not sure if you can access online. Did you get a saline IV? I went through this in my mid 20's, spent three days in ER all for severe dehydration. My dad (RIP) was funny and had them do a full blood panel cause he thought my sisters ass of a bf at the time was poisoning me haha. Worked out great cause I just failed out of college and hadn't done drugs in a few months, fam was surprised

I have to call the hospital back to see how to access them.

No and no mention of being dehydrated.

Been there, freaky when you can see your fingers way out to the side of your vision but if you try to focus on them they aren't there.
Holy shit I might have had 2 of something like these this summer! Didn't look any farther into it as they only lasted an hour and seemed to be related to insulin swings and food intake. Whole middle of my visual field GONE. Once at a restaurant, couldn't see menu, needed to eat, slow/poor service, finally gave up after 5 minutes of trying and suffered while silently freaking the fuck out,. Ordered a cheeseburger and within an hour of eating it was easing up and gone all the way in another hour. Again a week later. Changed my diet considerably, hasn't happened again. OP, sorry if unrelated, I'd just not heard of optic migraines before. I hope you can keep going and not go through that again.

Replied above, then read the next 4 pages. I've been told many times before that ibuprofen will eat your stomach. Asprin as well, maybe to a different degree. I quote it all the time (without knowing if true or searching for it ) that more people die every year from NSAID related bleeding/gut problems than die in drunk driving accidents. My FIL just died this year from a hole in his stomach and a failed repair surgery from an asprin a day. Acetaminophen is hard on the liver, and if you drink a bunch be shy with that (again, all from what I've "heard" from people that know more than me). Best of luck all around and don't die.

I'm pretty sure that if I quit taking advil, advil is going out of business.

Just curious, maybe i missed it...

How much water do you drink every day?

I ask this because im an over-hydrator. I drink a little bit too much water. It's a weird mental tic i have. I piss 20 times a day. Im never anywhere without a bottle or yeti cup nearby. I never have headaches. NEVER. Even when sick. The last headache i had was maybe 15 years ago and excessive whiskey induced.

Im asking because im seeing a trend in alot of constant headache/migraine folks that are living borderline dehydrated every day. Just wondering out loud.

I ws going to suggest yesterday that you write down everything you consume for a week, drugs included, and then go over it. When i started giving af about my health ( 7-8 years ago) i eliminated everything that was not actual food. Soda, candy bars etc. You are what you eat, dont eat shit. Eat actual food.

Also taking drugs on a empty stomach is a not soo good idea.

1/2-1 gallon a day. I piss if I even look at a cup of water.

Ok, check that off the list.

Stop taking pills on an empty stomach. Hell, throw 4 crackers in a ziplock bag. You dont have to have a meal, but get something on your stomach with that shit. Some of it is mildly rough, some can be really bad on an empty stomach. Also, some of it you're wasting because your gut wont absorb it without digestive goo in there with it.

So sayeth the medical community, yes. Aspirin daily isn't for everyone, no joke. But consult a doctor regarding your detailed medication history. They might tell you to back off the nsaid combo as soon as possible.

Erroneous tip; extra strength excedrin is a known CAUSE of migraine headaches.
Really? I’ve only had one migraine headache (what I call a migraine headache which was extremely intense where I couldn’t drive my turn back from diving in Florida in the late 80’s, after a hit of aspirin and couple hour sleep I was good again) but I’ve had spells of headaches due to stress no doubt. I bounce between the green label and red label < stronger, excedrin aspirin and it does the job. I’ve tried most everything else out there and nothing works like excedrin does for me. Never had any side effects from taking it over the last 30 plus years. Years back when they stopped making it due to some crap with their processing factory side of things, I got very worried it wouldn’t come back, I’m very glad it did.

What works for some folks may not work for others but excedrin is the only thing that helps me when I need it.

Lymph node maybe, not sure if it’s right there but in that area I believe. Those things can cause all kinds of havoc and the C. Keep an eyeball on it for sure.

Yeah, don’t search google for health related information, you’ll end up with a laundry list of rare diseases and illnesses according that rabbit hole

Pulse is again on the low side. If it goes below 60 that's cause for concern.

Don't worry about the 147 atm.

Only seeing 64p... would like to know if you ever hook up your monitor and see anything in the 70s, or above?

64 is pre-bradycardia stuff.
