What's new

My visit to the E.R....

Be careful with ibuprofen. That shit is bad for the liver (maybe kidneys too, icr)from what I procve read.

Unfortunately, I used to take 4-5 at a time, as needed for back pain/inflammation, for 20 years before I read that . :shaking:

Edit: I took 4 ibuprofen this morning. They take the edge off so I can work,, since the medical community is going to take about 4 months to do the 20 minute procedure that may eliminate the pain.

You wouldn’t have these problems if you didn’t eat an entire rotisserie chicken a day, 40 days in a row.

Take care of yourself please.

I was cleared to take aspirin/ibuprofen. The acetaminophen is the one that causes liver trouble, so a big no~no-
It's been a few years, so I don't remember where I read that.

Looks like heavy use (like I was doing) is no bueno, anyway.

I started getting a bad headache at 11:30, I took two aspirin and went to sleep. I just woke up to no headache but it is starting to come back, but not as bad.

Just writing this down, so I don't forget.

Drink some water. Might help with the headache.

Have you had a 'normal' amount of caffeine today or less than usual?

Your doctor and porn are not one and the same?

With respect to Trampas, the nurses at UC Davis ER are just damn fine looking. And this was the 6 AM crew on Sunday.
Looking forward to hearing about our driller this coming week and hoping for the best. :flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:

Ray Gar Day - Regarding the blood sugar. " meh " My spot check by blood has ranged from 104 to 360 through my entry to surgery and at other times. A1C is the real deal and it is the one that will knock off a CDL in CA.

That would 100% explain why i spent almost 7 years with a UCD nurse. :garfield:

How's your pecker, old man :lmao::flipoff2:

Ibuprofen is fast acting, naproxen is long lasting. You should give low dose naproxen a try instead of ibuprofen. And if that doesn't do the trick, add acetaminophen to the naproxen.

Advil is worse on the gut lining than Aleve is.

Really? I didn't know that. Ibuprofen and aspirin mixed works very well for my headaches.

So sayeth the medical community, yes. Aspirin daily isn't for everyone, no joke. But consult a doctor regarding your detailed medication history. They might tell you to back off the nsaid combo as soon as possible.

Erroneous tip; extra strength excedrin is a known CAUSE of migraine headaches.

I take things at different levels, start with 800-1000 mg of advil. If that doesn't help 450 mg of advil and 450 mg of aspirin, 4 hours later.

Excedrin and advil migraine don't help much. I don't like advil liquid gels either.

You have multiple potential underlying factors for "a bad headache" going on.

Overmedication being one of them!

Are you actually EATING enough in a given day? Are you taking ha meds on an empty stomach?

Smoking cigars on an empty stomach is also something you should change if you're doing it.

Excedrin Migraine is not to be confused with Extra Strength Excedrin

Trying to make the pain stop so I can function.

Probably not, but I guess that I never have?
more food or less food doesn't seem to have an effect.

mostly

50-50.

Yeah man, you are in need of some adjustments to your routines.

Nsaids without food is not good, almost NO meds are in fact better without something in your stomach. When taking meds on an empty stomach, your risk of overmedication HA's goes up significantly. Think of it like how eating fiber slows/regulates the digestive process and increases absorption rate which is what you want with food... where eating before meds slows/regulates uptake into the blood stream/brain and decreases absorption rate, which is what you want with Rx...

Food intake needs to not be vilified. Eat when your hungry and when you need to get the pain gone, eat at least a few ounces of something prior to the meds going down the hatch. And that old addage - "take with a full glass of water" - so that too.

Battling daily global headpain sucks ass i'm sure. I hope you can realign med intake as soon as you see a physician.

edit; there's a saying called - 2 and 2 - in the pain prophylactic arena. It suggests a patient take only a maximum of 2 pain doses a day, and only a maximum of 2 x a week. I bet it's near impossible to only take pain pills 4 times a week, but that's the guideline a pain specialist (or even your regular doctor) will want to see you on, or even less.

Something else that I didn't mention before...

I've been having a gurgling sound and feeling in my chest for a couple of months or so now. I thought that it was indigestion but now I'm not so sure.
