What's new

Matt's Off Road Recovery.

Well good luck to old Rudiger, but he just doesn't have whatever it is that will get people to watch. When my kid wants to watch a Matts Jeep Show! He'll ask where Rudy is and if he's driving, but really doesn't care if he's there or not. If Matt's not in the video he's not interested. :flipoff2:
For sure, they’ve given him Shit for his lack of talking enough on Matt’s channel enough as it is.

speaking of spinoff YouTubes, did James's channel from Cletus's videos have any success? I only watch Cletus occasionally and saw James on the last couple, expected he'd be off doing his own filming

On the + side, Rudy waited on the announcement until he had two videos up, so when I went to look at his channel there was already content. Smart.

On the - side, he's shooting solo with a tripod, which makes it seem slow, static, and boring.
And his lighting and lack of a mic suck.
And he has the star-power of a soggy tuna sandwich.

What about the dude with the V that took off early? They were buddies in law school, I think?

meh I can't do any of the youtube or instagram deals anymore. It's all hyped up reality tv-esk for the "views" and "numbers". No one stand on their own cause they all have to be buddy buddy to pump up their stats.
Same. I used to tune into Cleetus and a few others. Everything became TV shows that you'd see if Grand Theft Auto had a TV network. I can't do it anymore. I've blocked or hit the "do not recommend this channel anymore" to about twenty of them. Everything is fake. Everything is purely for likes and subscribes. I shut all that shit off and spend my own damned time doing the things I like to do as opposed to sitting around watching others do what they enjoy to do.

I swear I could attach a camera to my head and make millions streaming my life while chorin'.

Hell, it's even easier than filming yourself doing chores. Just film your kid opening and playing with some toys.

This all goes back to the charisma issue, you got that? :flipoff2:
I usually only watch things I'm interested in when I'm riding the bike inside. So I'll watch bike videos when I'm riding the bike inside.

Unless your old lady is halfway attractive and has a big ol set of tits she'll hang out on your channel. :smokin:

I been home since January and watched more of this shit than one can handle. I dumped a ton of the big ones but some of the smaller channels are still good. I like enjoy watching Pathmaker, Mortski repair, Mar rocks and such but so many have turned into the same BS that was on every TV motor sports show back in the day. I can't take that crap anymore.

Cleetus and the gang are still pretty good at screwing stuff up naturally. Less for the lols than most for sure. I wish the goofball with the s10 blazer would stop his shtick.

The disapointing part of it, that some of the youtubers who are following in that tv path are doing it because they have too many viewers who keep egging them on to do it. I like basic camera work, show me what your doing/exploring and leave it at that and tell the whiners to stuff it (your mic sucks, your camera is too shakey, your this/that/something else to complain about that really doesn't need any complaining about. And fucking phones do a damn fine job, better than watching you fumble around with oversized camera gear...)

The last video I saw was him doing donuts in his burnout pad with a bunch of people in a pool. That and his boats before that. pleh

James Taal isn't bad. I like him. I've learned a few things from what he's done.

But he bought stock in that racing part company, started hocking their stuff, acted like he was the one making the parts when all he really did was write a check. Then there was that race that James blew up his car and Garrett runs over telling him he brought cash just to buy another one- $100k. I mean, c'mon. I like the tech and stuff. Not running around saying he'll just buy a car on a whim with $100k in his hand to win it.

He just rented Bristol raceway for freedom race and burn out contest.

I have noticed that a lot of the big guys have gotten very click bait on their videos. I don't watch cleetus really anymore. I never watched Matt's recovery. A lot of the off road people are hey look at me with my free parts. Pass. There has been some good wheeling content with good editing put out.

One of the Bleeping Jeep guys had a real click bait title about a unicorn transfer case upgrade. Ummm putting a 4:1 into a 231 is not a unicorn nor a good upgrade

I can't stand Bleeping Jeep, especially the skinny doofus. They may be talented but they are annoying as fuck.
Amen, been Nope-ing out of his videos and almost any crossover that lets him actually speak since way way early.

I watch Cleetus' videos, it's cheap entertainment and I could give a shit less about click bait or whatever. I don't even like Chevys or Fords and the day Sterling Marlin put Dale Earnhart in the wall was one of my best days, but I still like the BS they get into and the storyline of them getting things like Mullet built, the Freedom Factory and so on. I don't have that kind of cash, so may as well live vicariously through someone else. I do wish George had never joined the channel, he is fucking annoying.

Oh, and if you want to see how "moderate" Cleetus is on his ads and click bait, go check out the Sparks guy with the diesel TV show. He is fucking retarded pushing the dumb shit people pay him to act like he gives a shit about.

Seems to be a common thing.

I don't watch Vice Grip Garage much anymore. The videos from a few years ago were better.

I have been watching sparks, the ads are getting worse and he is starting to make it look like an the TV show which i have only seen a few times.

I was late to the Matt's bandwagon, I couldn't fathom how videos about recovering stuck/broken vehicles from the desert could be entertaining. I had enough friends share them with me that I finally watched a few, and be dang, I was entertained. I still fast forward a lot, I do that on 90% of the big YouTubers though.

I too watch Cleetus, but only found him through Deboss Garage when he took the Audi to Daytona, so I was late to that bandwagon too. Cleetus got me to watching Fasterproms, which I liked A LOT better, but they've all but quit putting out content. I didn't mind George so much there, but I'm not so sure how many more "buenos diases" I can stand. I fast forward that dude a lot.

It doesn't have anything to do with anything else we've been talking about, other than he's also a YouTuber, but This Old Tony is probably the best channel in all of YouTube. I don't think I've ever fast forwarded through his content, I'll even rewatch it.

I found this Kiwi fella on youtube awhile ago that is the personification of the "downhome" youtuber you're describing.

Basically his schtick is being led to/ finding broken down/ abandoned heavy equip/ ag equipment in the jungle, driving it out, dragging it home, giving it a full fluid service, then putting it to work grading the long ass mountain road up to his house. I literally cannot for the life of me get enough of it. His voice is dry and stoic as fuck but he's just so direct and to the point that I find him easy as fuck to listen to. And he does an awesome job checking over neglected tractors, replacing all their fluids and putting them back into service.
Here's a primer video I recommend if anyone gives a shit.
