Good call on the grille. I think if you took some chunks out of there, or pulled it completely, and busted out some windows to replace with either blue tarp, duct tape and carboard, or that silver insulator stuff, it'd be dialed.Econoline grille swap is too clean - that's fauxtina'd & headed to Burning Man, not a methmobile
Like I said earlier...within mere hours the FBI stated it was not malicious, purely an accident.
There was absolutely NO way for them to have performed even a cursory investigation at that point.
I know, they're trying to keep people from panicking...but to categorically state that seems awfully strange.
All I'm say'n is: if Lebenhauer Enterprises bids on the new bridge, I'm calling Jack ReacharoundCome on man if it was a malicious attack, the FBI would’ve known about it ahead of time and still done nothing to stop it, it’s like you don’t know how conspiracy theories work.
can't find a good link yet, cable news is saying Ukraine has offered to help repair the bridge
some team with lots of demo experience in their war

That is such a cool bridge... It became the longest canter lever bridge in the world beating out the previous bridge which is in all of places Poughkeepsie NY...The Algorithm is always listening. This popped up in my facebook feed:
So, my stupid question...
Choke the sections and tow to shore, with shore mounted winches and/or boats?
Probably can't because of submerged power/fiber optic cables and pipes and other infrastructure I guess.
Also probably not a good shoreline to use, like those shipbreaking beaches in Bangladesh?
Ignoring the damage to those infrastructure, could it be done?
Would the pieces mostly hold together?
Would it be cheaper/safer/easier than cranes and cutting in place?
I wonder if those ship cutting chains could be used to cut in place, or if the steel is too thick/strong...
If they cut it in to smaller sections, maybe. But as it sits, you still have mangled steel wrapped around concrete piers and you'd just tear little pieces off if you just started yanking on the whole thing.
Saw some live chopper feeds this morning showing them moving in several heavy lift barge cranes, so I'm sticking with the theory that they'll chop it up in to more manageable pieces and get them out of the way by whatever means available to get the main channel clear.
Nowhere close to impossible. Then pull the chain under. What's left of that bridge would make doing that almost impossible.
Maybe they could send us a few billion dollars in aid instead?
IIRC, the Captain in 2016 was Ukranian, the current Captain is from India (as is the whole crew).Well the Captain was Ukrainian, maybe the demo job is complete.
Paraphrase of the day:
Never ascribe to malice what can be adequately explained by incompetence.
And you let the revenuers tell a sovereign citizen where he could and could not go?I tried to get an eye on it today. Ft. Armistead park is as close as you can get on the southwest side. The revenuers had the road blocked to the park. That pretty much shuts down joe public from seeing it themselves other than a 2000 yard no go from the water.
- motive: revenge for us being rude to their homies in the customer service call centers?the current Captain is from India (as is the whole crew).
This is Baltimore. A handful of families have become wealthy due to treatment of perceived non compliance by the cops. I'm fine with my family eating black box mac and cheese. And you let the revenuers tell a sovereign citizen where he could and could not go?
Nowhere close to impossible.

That’s the only consolation I take from paying taxes.I would assume the navy would come and do it since the corps of engineers is in charge of the channel cleanup.
they got shit to blow up shit under water the bestest.
our ability to fund real cool shit to blow shit up is the last thing I have faith in from the federal government. All else fails we still got the best bombs.
I have worked with and around a ton of those guys over the years and one thing stands out above all else. It don't matter if it's a Doctor, Engineer, Micro Biologist or a ditch digger, floor sweeper and the like. They all lie, lie through their teeth, they tell lies that are impossible and will still lie even when the truth would serve them better. I would ask a couple of the guys I know and am friendly why telling lies is their culture but I am sure they lie about it so why bother.Well folks, I think we've drilled down to the root cause of what went wrong.
I take back what I had said about the Captain not telling lies because the pilot was standing next to him the whole time. That fact isn't going to faze the Captain one bit.

I'd guess its similar to the Asian culture thing of not being able to say No/"Yes I can do that" (when they can't) to practically anything.I have worked with and around a ton of those guys over the years and one thing stands out above all else. Not exactly - Indians lie lie lie about anything and everything in order to get ahead. They even lie about small, inconsequential things. They can't help themselves. When US companies put an Indian in a management position they do everything they can to replace everyone with Indians. Don't put all other Asians in the same category...I'd guess its similar to the Asian culture thing of not being able to say No/"Yes I can do that" (when they can't) to practically anything.
