Libertarians- “keep getting your 3% every four years”

I don’t like the idea, but government is the last entity that should be controlling medical services. They can’t be trusted.
These last two sentences should apply to every facet of US Citizens lives. The Fed .gov should not be controlling any part of
our lives.

That should be the plank of the Libertarian party.

Isn't it worth a chance? We know the known commodities. Would government ultimately do what government does and trend toward more control? Yes. Then you vote the fuckers out again.
Look at the libertarian candidate. He’s a liberal/democrat. Then it simply becomes 2 democrat parties against 1 Republican Party. This is just a step closer to communism.

Ive refused to vote for a third party when the libertarian candidate was a true Republican for the same reason. You’re simply voting for 1 party to have complete power.

Ayup, I stand corrected. The funny part is my next closest match on policies is Trump, soooo I guess I'll be doing that unless something majorly changes. Orange man is still rude in my eyes, but orange man economy was clearly superior.

Fwiw, many of us feel this way. Trump is awful but probably our better option. Sad when the best we can hope for is someone not actively trying to burn the country down from the inside.

Yeah, unfortunately the libertarian candidate sucks. I'll either vote for RFK simply to vote for the first third party candidate to make noise since Ross Perot or write in Dave Smith. I saw four years of Trump and three and a half years of Biden. That's a hard no thanks on both.

Yes. A lot of the policies Trump and I are in agreement should be no-brainers and not even worth consideration... except everyone else out there went full crazy.

I never said he couldn't be a total ass. I think pretty much everyone can agree on that. We don't however have to like him to support him if what he does is beneficial to what we want.

And I simply feel that Trump is the best option. No praising him or thinking he’s a god. Just gonna slowly steer the ship somewhere to a better direction. He’s not the final answer.

How so? You are still going to have the big two with seats and voices represented. I am not advocating for a third party to have total control. What I think I want is a 3rd party that has about 33 ish percent voice along side the Dems and Repubs who also each have their 33 ish percent. To get away from the tug of war for 1 1/2% of each side of the current 50/50 split.

Heavy on the “think” part. I’m less sure about anything all the time. I think I want term limits for senators and congressmen. Maybe I’m totally wrong and this is the best we’re ever gonna get. Chase Oliver, Biden, Trump.

That's pretty fucking retarded 🤷‍♂️

I get it.

I honestly think playing this lesser of two evils game is pretty fucking retarded and has gotten us to this pretty fucking retarded political place where we've found ourselves. But keep playing the game thinking that you'll eventually win. It's your vote and at the end of the day that's all we have.

Well, isn't that basically how it was with Trump as president? All the democrats hated him and a damn good majority of the republicans did as well.

He was as close to a 3rd party as we'll see in our life time.

The vast majority of libertarian candidates were life long republicans. Let’s say we elect one. Now we have 2/3 republican to democrat party. Not what I consider going in the right direction.

And you think voting for someone you damn well know doesn't have a snow balls chance in hell of winning is the logical answer?

Even if Trump didn't turn us in the 100% correct direction, it sure as hell was better than the direction we're going.

So yeah, you're analogy is retarded.

It's the only avenue I have my vote seen and registering that I was unwilling to vote for either forced choice.

You realize the Dems play this same game, right?

As long as y'all are willing to show up to vote for shitty candidates they have no incentive to improve their candidate quality. Sitting around bitching about it while continuing to show up to vote is like the parent with the out of control kid who keeps scolding and making threats but never delivering on them. Obviously the out of control kid keeps on keeping on because he has no actual incentive to change.

My retarded self can weigh in on that: You should vote for whichever candidate most closely aligns with your beliefs, regardless of their chances. The more people do that, the more others will suddenly note- "hey, this party went from 3% to 10%, that's interesting, I wonder why." That's how the snowball gets rolling.

I get it if you're in a battleground state and you want to make sure a horrible candidate absolutely doesn't win, but for everyone else, why not shake it up?

Now, I wouldn't just chuck my vote at some random third party that I didn't agree with, but if I felt their policies were better than one of the two major political party candidates, I'd vote for them in a heartbeat.

I'm afraid we're past the point of voting ourselves out of this mess regardless who we vote for. All we can do is vote for the ones less likely to push us further.

Unless a certain percentage is willing to step to the next level....which isn't likely.

That opinion....has merit.

That means they are no longer republicans. Can’t speak for all of them. Some of them are the fiscally conservative socially progressive types. Someone changing their mind is a good thing. Someone realizing they were affiliated with the wrong party and realigning is a good thing. On both sides. There are libertarians that were democrats who are pro 2A and left because of the woke agenda crap. There are libertarians who were republicans who are pro choice and left because of the religious slant. If those people know how to talk to people like humans, we need those people right in the middle. We need all 3 to keep all walks of life represented.

Just out of curiosity, have you ran for any local seat? City, county commission, school board...etc?

Ok, I've got a conspiracy theory. I admit I've pulled this out of my ass.

The L party is gonna run a woke Democrat kid flipper. The 3% vote is going to be the 0.6% vote. Maybe more, because they'll steal some D votes from the now homeless democrat crowd. But either way, what little bit they had is gone. Stick a done in it- it's fork.

Oliver is a Democrat. This makes no sense.

Our dark overlords that control the .fed have been watching Argentina. It's not going to be a quick fix, but Milei is turning it around faster than anyone dreamed. It's obvious to anyone with 3 brain cells watching this region that small government leaving its citizens the fuck alone eats progressivism alive. This isn't good. This could become a trend in the US in the near future. Better nip it in the bud right now, before it ever has a chance of gaining traction here.

So, Soros and Blackrock turn the L party into a joke by inserting Oliver. So now you have R, D, and weird D. Problem solved.

No. I fully realize I have no political talent. I have no desire to cater to people and will tell them what I actually think.

But the reality is, we make a third party that fits your ideals most, then someone comes along and says none of the 3 parties fit their ideals and we need a forth party.

The current libertarian candidate ran off countless supporters of the party. They feel their party just left them and now they need a party that truly stands for their beliefs. Now what?

This whole 3 party thing becomes more and more of a joke everyday. Chase Oliver just proved it.

You are not far off I bet. Considering Klaus Schwab gave a speech decrying libertarianism at his last pedo orgy meeting, they see it as a potential threat I'm sure.

The other big issue is most libertarians see voteing as legitimizing the government and system they hate, so they don't participate. How would you ever get anyone you want elected?

But the reality is, we make a third party that fits your ideals most, then someone comes along and says none of the 3 parties fit their ideals and we need a forth party.
Don't threaten me with a good time. Making political parties ultimately irrelevant would be a fantastic achievement.

Okay how does Soros just put someone in then?

I get the dems did because they have “super delegates”

That's where you're wrong kiddo. The US federal government is a joke, no matter the party number. Chase Oliver is one flake of pecan on the cake icing.

We can't even make the interest payment on the national debt. I'm racist because I think it's wrong to change the sex of a 2nd grader. We're 4-10 years away from AI becoming self aware. 2020 election was completely and totally rigged, but you're a c*nt if you don't vote for who I'm voting for.

Tell me I'm wrong.

You just went off on a whole different topic.

Clearly you feel voting is a waste no matter what. Noted. Go start a thread about it.

You're not. All the stuff Trump ran to supposedly fix only got a lot worse. But none of it is his fault and he'll get it all right this time.

Okay...
