Maxxforce 7 same long block as P Stroke 6.4?
It’s been said. Not out of the question but I can’t find a 6.7 common rail Cummins that isn’t a tone of money for the miles and questionable on if it’s complete enough. Lots of wrecked dodges thoughAnyone said to throw a common rail in it and sell it?
Do you know where to look for stuff like that? Co-part and every recycler have totally screwed that market. How dumb would it be to find a rolled 11-16 6.7 psd and do a cab swap? The dash and cab are the same, so that should be fairly plug and play. There is obviously some front clip differences though.
Then you just have an oddball truck with no real gain though.....maybe save a little money vs a $40k truck.

Not here I wouldn’t. Work trucks are garbage by the time they are for sale, I have two non running 6.7 powerstrokes, a 2012 and a 2013. The 12 has a windowed block. The 13 the CP4 did the CP4 thing and ruined everything to do with the fuel system.Your work auction?
I have no idea, I'd guess you might luck out on marketplace or Craigslist if you really searched around

No, yes but no in the end. To put a 6.7 PSD in my truck and make everything work that makes the truck valuable to me. I’d need a complete vehicle wire harness for a 2011-2013 CC/SB Lariat specifically. All the modules ECM etc out of the 6.7 truck and use the 6 speed trans as well. That would just be buying a 6.7 with extra steps and just not worth the project. So 13 long block + 12 fuel system makes a good engine?
If you were to do a swap, having both of those rigs would be a huge advantage.
Can you find a decent 6.7 long block and then use everything else from the donor trucks?

Decontamination kit is $4k or so.
Does that make the '13 a viable truck?
shoot... I'll offer $250...Sell 08 truck with blown 6.4 to me for $200. I put interior in my truck
Yeah I just meant enough to get it running to sell or whatever.
No comprende. The truck is junk, it’s just a parts truck. This is the inside of the 13, the cleaner of the two. They are both XLT’s with power everything but they are rough shape, extended cab cab n chassis trucks. Might could make one runner out of the two but I wouldn’t consider it a viable tow rig. Trash truck at best.
Edit. Oh you mean decontaminate the fuel lines and stuff? Maybe, I need to do a compression test on it and see if there’s anything there.
The previous issue I thought was a bad turbo. Was actually a bad “boost reference sensor” that was making the VVT do weird stuff at the wrong time. The sensor that the ECM reads exhaust back pressure between the engine and the first turbo was giving a bad reading so the ECM had the variable vanes all jacked up making it sound like a crazy boost leak and giving it low boost pressure.I don't remember seeing it, and may have read over it (even going back to look for it) did you ever get a chance to see what the issue was in your 6.4?
So last time the turbos were blown and the truck was ready for the scrap heap it turned out it was just a failed sensor.
This time it busted a valvecover so the engines blown to bits and it's ready for the scrappers again.... Maybe actually look into what failed instead of worst-casing it again? Could be something as dumb as a busted rocker.
I remember seeing the reference sensor and all that, was referring to this one where valve cover blew and took glow plug and injector with it. I haven’t had a chance to look at it. I worked last weekend and this weekend is a busy holiday. Went camping with my family. I still haven’t even been over to Grandparents house to get it dragged home.So what's busted on the 6.4?
Last night I flew from Albuquerque NM to DWF-IA. This morning I took a cab Mansfield TX and bought this. 2019 CC/Lb 6.7 6 speed. It’s an XLT with all the add options. So… folded em. I’m not done with the ol 6.4 truck but I don’t have time for engine swaps and shit between now and the next time I need a diesel pickup.
Everyone is surprised I bought a long bed… on purpose. I love my crew shorty’s but it was time for Peter Pan to grow up. I’ll miss the short bed but I’m looking forward to traveling with the 48 gallon fuel tank instead of the 25 gallonnot sure what surprises me more... that you folded, or that you bought a long bed!
Good looking truck. Many will disagree, but I think the 6-speed is much nicer than the 10...
