What's new

Javier Milei / Argentina

We are all spectators, but consider 140% or even worse inflation. There can't be an economy under those conditions. Cutting a shit ton of gov jobs will increase unemployment and lessen some, some necessary services. We should wish him and the Argentine people well.
Only one way to know for sure

Somewhat related, about the permanent machine of state:

when inflation gets noteworthy enough that the propaganda can't spin it, what was done has been done for a while

there ain't no 'oh we shoulda' there's only moving on after having learned your lesson about the state

I'm not all that clear in that the president can do that. He's removed those from his cabinet, but I'm not sure those agencies have been eliminated.

Fawk !! Those boobs slapping you around in the face or douching your duke would change your mind.
Until the dude pulls up his dress and he's got a bigger dick than you.:flipoff2:

Somewhat related, about the permanent machine of state:

finally watched this
around 11:00 he's talking about how the state apparatus automatically operates for the benefit of the progressives (not just leftist progressives, but righty progressives too)

he doesn't quite boil it down that far and I don't think he's had the realization yet, but he dances around it pretty well.
Everyone's got their own one little idea of "progress" to enact, and that's the entire state's purpose. Sort of a manifest destiny or more accurately a plague of locusts ever expanding.

The big flashy gimmiedats will always win out over the beaten and subdued 'please stop this madness I'm just trying to get through life'

Buried in there around 24-26 is an answer to Tucker's question about why they aren't doing shit about the border...

The bit about how ineffective democratically elected politicians who are stymied by the bureaucracy will lead to desire for undemocratic systems where things actually get done was a good point.

you should read an ancient book by Fredriech Hayek 'road to serfdom'
I dug up a PDF and read the intro. Is there anything novel in there that I won't have gotten reading other more modern work? He seems really wordy for what he's trying to say so far.

Probably why he was talking dollarization, might buy him some time if he enslaves their economy under our central bank

Although probably not a popular idea, they can instantly improve their economy by doing one simple thing: allow Chinese made products to enter their border.

In grad school, was cursed out in Spanish by a high level Argentinian official who was touting Argentina's open trade policy when I asked why they didn't allow Chinese goods.
