What's new

Javier Milei / Argentina

I did, just got off the phone with him. There may have been some gloating too

I don't have a ton of faith in Milei. I hope he sticks to libertarianism, but I'm not holding my breath. There will likely be revolts in the country if he tries to reduce the size of the Argentinean government.
what's new? there's revolts for any reason of the day. Hell, they probably had revolts because some dude in the USA overdosed and blamed it on the cops :rasta:

It'll be interesting if in argentina they are more or less able to reduce the scope of the state compared to what a "president" here in the USA, even a libertarian one, would be faced with. Certainly, he will be fought at every step regardless, and then blamed for failure

So this was in the meme thread iirc, and I was skeptical, but now I'm thinking it might be legit. And maybe I'll look into Argentine real estate:laughing:

He best be careful for those unfortunate events than can happen. Should be fun to watch what he does.
Oh, he going to be dead soon. Statists are going to off him somehow. Kinda like putin and anyone who tried to stand against him.

What happens after that in the country will be eye opening for the rest of the world.

Judging from the video, the meme translation may be slightly sanitized
The subtitles in the clip above seem to match what he was saying pretty closely (the differences were mostly translating to US slang and the Spanish may have been Argentine slang for the same thing).

Don't mention the Falkan war. They're real sensitive about getting their asses kicked.

And they will tell you that they are the Malvinas Islands, NOT the Falkland Islands...
Top Gear had some issues with that (they brought a Porsche that had FKL as part of the plate number):

I'm excited to see how this goes!
So when I pushed “like” on this post, it took me to another page to confirm that I want to like a villain? What is this? Is the president a villain or Will12785? if it’s the latter, how does one become a villain?

I can't teach you how to become a villain, but you'll know it when it happens.

Buenos Aires made New Hampshire look diverse. If Argentina got its economy together it would be a great place to be.

Lots of beef, white people, natural resources and good geography. Pretty good rock and roll scene too.
yea, but then the bugs throw that rock at it.

I say kill'em all.

I'd heard the guy is talking about adopting the dollar which seems strange. Sure it's better than their currency that they've killed, but it is shackling them to a currency that they don't control

I'm imagining that he knows what happens to people who introduce fixed currencies.

Probably ripe for a military coup
This is the most likely outcome, followed by "new and improved" election policies and procedures that result in it taking weeks to count (and adjust as needed) ballots ensuring Globalists victories henceforth.

If you are a capable leader of a country that is making hard choices to become a world leader, then attaching to another's currency is probably a bad idea.

However, if you realize you are leading a country of children who already sucked all the money out of the treasury and are just as likely to do it again, then having currency control out of reach is probably a good thing.

Not only that, but they have to purchase hundreds of billions of dollars... And they are beyond broke.
