What's new

Java's F450 RV

yeah, regular shop isn't likely to mess with heads and all that, so probably a long block, but everything else came off the old engine unless somebody paid to replace it while it was out.

water pump would be a no brainer thing to replace, but some people are dumb, or just don't know any better or to ask questions.

It was done at a dealer, but for a "buddy" so who knows what got replaced.... No real way to tell without getting in there. And I really don't want to :lmao:

But if I am doing the idlers and tensioner, I'm halfway in. But pulling the back half of the fan shroud and getting the fan off look like zero fun in the rain outside.....

Could not find it in the search, do you have details of the ammo can fire pit in this thread or was it the other spot?

Posted here now :flipoff2:

I found them in my search and I was like damn that's the same thing but fuck me is it pricey.
The Russian/China versions will be much cheaper I bet :stirthepot:

I have a flat can I think from a 20mm M139 that will be awesome (I think). It's like a shoe box so the sides shouldn't effect it much.
I am hoping to lower the soot production so I don't get dirty as f every time I use it which I am known for.

The Big Red Campfire is pricey as hell too, I thought it was around $100 but it's coming up as $225 on e-trailer.

Yes I know those big flat ones, would be awesome with some of the "rocks" from modern fireplaces.

Its not bad, just wash your hands after you stuff the regulator in the box. The sides are black. But a larger one may not have as much of an issue.

Welp I need tires..... Like now.

So do I buy 19.5's and run without the inserts? Or buy a set of 20" wheels.... Or go back to duals and run brodozer wheels....

And I need to get the front end figured out. I can see steel in the drivers front tire now. Fawk.

Anyone have opinions on these tires? I am leaning towards running no inserts..... alignment is scheduled.....

Not wide enough for a 285 tire
do you need a 285?

My OBS has 295's on 20" dually wheels... stupid wide for the rear, especially. I'm likely going to replace them (after I win the lottery) with 275's. Seems to be a few interest sets out there in the right load range for my application, though they are more $$.

No, I don't need a 285. But it helps drop the highway RPM a little.

there are some tall 275's available. Just not sure on your wheels. The 275/65-20 is taller than the 295/60-20 that i have now. if it matters...

For what it's worth, Simple Tire has been sending me major discount notifications out the ass and they have free shipping. Just throwing that out there as a place to browse.

Yeah they didn't have any traction in 285.

Free shipping I found from another place.

We had tires with a tread like those (minus the sipes) on a early 2000s F450 plow truck at work several jobs ago, it was loud on the road, but they dug in off road and wore well.
No expierence with that particular tire though.

Well my fed ex guy rocks. I think these might be more aggressive than the rears!

Alignment is done. About 1" of toe.....

I love the multi piece rims after having hummer 12 bolts and the big military rims. the beadlock insert is always the biggest pain but the rim deign itself is so much easier than a conventional stretch over rim.

Edit also where did you get them?
