Introductions

Been lurking on here for a while and figured I'd post up my superdutys.
The blue truck is a 05 with a 6.0 powerstroke with 4.30 gears and 40s on a leveling kit its pretty much my camp truck. The black truck is going to be my new wheeling rig as soon as I finish collecting parts. It's a 2000 with a 5.4. I have a set of 05+ superduty axles with 5.38 gears and lockers that will be going under it with at least a 40 in tire.

Back in the Ford camp. Been DD'ing a Ram EcoDiesel for the last 9 years and it's got 216k on it now so time to go.

Picked up a 14 F150 XLT+ with rear locker and Coyote motor. PO, bought it from original owner, and I've known PO for a long while and he's an Irate. Anyway, truck was garage kept and dealer maintained, and with only 60k on the clock it was a great alternative to the $70k trucks on the lot. Have Fox IBP shocks for the rear, and plans to raise the front with Fox "Factory Race" pieces. Maybe some bumpers, lights and a camper shell. Gonna be by camp overnight rig, like my F250 was.

Oh and it's got Raptor wheels and Falken Wild Peaks.

Deal went down like this.

Don buys a used Raptor.
Ron is going to trade in his TRX, and Don says "I'll give you what the dealership would", so Don buys the TRX and sells the Raptor to Fuzzy.
Fuzzy sold his Power Wagon to his buddy's son, and had just picked up the F150, so after picking up the Raptor, he sold the F150 to me.

These are for posford at the request from the trail fixes thread. Not sure where else to put them.

This rig started life (with me anyway) as a $500 dollar parts truck. I never intended to do anything with it really. But, I was between rigs and to do what I was planning on doing would have taken a long time, and there was a wheeling trip coming up. In 6 weeks, I took it from the first pic below to the second pic, which mainly consisted of some bumpers and spring mounts, shortening the frame, relocating the fuel tank onto a little flat bed, putting in a front locker, and welding the rear, some driveshafts. Also, the big first step was to get it running :grinpimp:

That was back in 2016, and it's gotten some other additions since then. Pre taking it to Moab in 2017, it got rock sliders and a roll bar. Added some digicals, like a tri-band UHF/VHF radio, a CB, some lighting, a permanently mounted front Wanch...

Before going to Mo-hab again in 2019, it got rock rings, rear discs, a rear winch, an 8274 front winch, and the rear anti-wrap bar. I don't have a ton of pics on this PC at the moment, but I hope it scratches your itch.

Specs:
1986 F-350 cab/chassis
460, T19, BW1345
10.25, welded, 4.10's
HP D60 w/lockrite, chromo's, 35 spline outers with Yukon Hardcore hubs.
39.5x18x16.5 TSL boggers, on H1's

I guess the way it started was "it's only temporary unless it works" and then, "I don't go wheeling enough to justify much else" and that's kinda where I'm at now. I would like to upgrade at some point, but life happens and continues to happen. This thing still runs and wheels well enough. There's lots more it could use for sure, but I don't feel like getting myself too f'd in situations with a 3 y.o. riding along...

This thing is pretty sick. Carb on the 460? Low enough geared with the t19 and 4.10? I love this style of down and dirty build. The sliders and roll bar is what caught my eye, would like to add something to my Ranger like that but I want to keep my bed.

Thanks for sharing man :smokin:

Yeah, the carb is a kinda home brew job. I took a Ford 600 holley like would have been on the truck originally and modified it for manual choke and put on non smogger float bowls. Runs good. Gearing wise, all my wheeling pals that don't drive it say it needs gears - which I'm sure it technically does - but i feel like i have pretty good control over the tires, if that makes any sense. The big block is really where it's at even with 4.10's compared to my last rig with a small block. It currently has a diesel T19 as well, which supposedly doesn't have as deep of a first/reverse ratio as the gas. I had to toss that diesel one in because the original one had a busted tail housing and I ran it low on oil, not realizing that. If I swapped a gas T19 back in, it would improve gearing. The sliders turned out great, pretty sure they're 2x4" .25" wall. The roll bar is 2.5"square .125" wall, and if I could do it again, would have gone with a thicker wall. The roll bar is bolted to the rear of the slider, the chassis, and the back bumper, so technically, it's removable. The sliders are welded onto the frame.

As long as the carb runs thats what matters. I need to get back to sorting out the fuel system on my truck, sold a few things and the sniper kit is calling my name, but hard to justify on a non priority project. You know how it goes.

I had an 87 f2/350 with same t19, 6.9 idi and 4.10's with 38.5 tsl. I thought it did well and know what you mean by control. It would pretty much idle itself up on to a ledge, maybe slip the clutch a bit.

Thats a cool rig, love that big block tork

Hey Randy here. I was a long time member on the old site. Kind of went away when it got sold. Recently found out about this, so thought I'd jump back in.
I've got a 2018 F-450 work truck plus
I've got a couple different Ford projects going. A 77 F+250 supercab short bed I was doing a 7.3 swap into. Kind of lost interest so it's just sitting. Got a 94 OBS 7.3 5- speed I'm contemplating swapping in a 99 Super duty drive train into. And an 04 350 dually just trying to get the 6.0 unfkd to use as another work truck.

Welcome to the jungle! :flipoff2:

What was your username at the old place?

Long time lurker, but I figured I’d try and get more active/ participate more.
I’m Collin, I’ve got a 91 Bronco that’s mostly a street truck now (daily driven), I used to wheel it more, if you can call it that in South FL, but life’s been in the way lately. It’s a pretty run of the mill beat up old bronco, should be getting a HP44 swap soon since I can’t seem to get the alignment right.
