Hurricane Milton

Just heard on Ryan Hall's stream that there were 130 tornado warnings in FL today so far. Here's a pic posted in a dumpster rental group I'm in on FB from West Palm Beach where one went through this afternoon.

Fake news. I have family in West Palm and there has been no rolloff tossing Nader's....yet

Saw an update from a buddy from Tampa. Crane collapsed at a high rise under construction and the roof of the Tropicana dome got ripped off.

Thankfully he left Tampa, but his old house is probably gone.

Early news here showed 1 section of the roof gone, not surprised it took the rest of it off. Didn't look like hurricane strength material, that you can be certain of.

Checking in from North Tampa area. We made it through w/o losing power, although it flickered on/off for most of the night. Lots of transformer explosions throughout the night I could hear. Cows are good and fences intact. No trees down, which is a miracle because we probably have 100+ on the property, but lots of big branches and debris. Driveway is blocked with branches. Definitely the worst storm I have seen in 61 years of living here. Lots of wind and huge amount of rain. A lot of wind damage and flooding in the area, most of my friends/neighbors are w/o power and lots of trees down. Tampa was on the North side of the storm, so storm surge was not as bad as Helena 2 weeks ago, but we had lots of flooding due to high amounts of rain it dumped. Going to eat breakfast, clear the driveway and go for a ride in the Jeep w/ chainsaw to check out the neighborhood once the sun comes up.

A friend PCS'ed last weekend to Tampa. They are on the south side of the bay and a bit inland. They lost power around 10pm and their fence blew down but otherwise are all good. What a way to start your last 3 years in the AF.

Man I hope they way over blew this deal and all those folks didn't get killed by the mayor...

NPR is doing stories about homelessness and dangerous animals...

The news said they were housing or planning on housing emergency personnel there. LIke WTF? You expect to put people in a building with a fabric roof during a hurricane that is making landfall nearby?
