What's new

Hurricane Milton

Is that on the East, Atlantic side ?
What's 'that'....? Milton will be hitting on the Gulf side (as mentioned directly above me). Somewhere south (a bit) of Tampa, looks like.

Staying. Neighbor has a block house. We were house shopping last night.

Thank you for that list above, I haven't had time to really Google it, and my quick search I was was only finding stuff about this one. From what I've found the storm of 1921 was the last time the area got a direct hit.

Aunt and her husband are in Venice. For some reason, I was under the impression that they were further inland. Gonna pull up some live vid in a sec. Venice seems like no place to be tonight.

same here, i need to check on them. They are super close to the beach like under 1/2 mile. I can remember being at their house when I was a kid and all of the streets were still sand.

Friend in Bradenton adjacent to Palma Sola Bay. Second floor condo that is fairly new and block/concrete construction. Hopefully they do ok. My guess is they went EAST to the atlantic side to their son's place in Fort Lauderdale.

My sister talked to my aunt in Venice, they got flooded in Helene and they are now at a friends in North Port, not sure thats any better.

Dad's in Homosassa and is chilling with stepmom watching the storm.
Cousin in Tampa got out with their kids the other day while her husband stayed.

My wife's aunt, uncle, and cousin live in the Dade City area. They are all staying.

My wife is also supposed to fly to Orlando on Sunday for Fabtech.

Fabtech is a ghost town right now. Center is closed until Friday (at this point), I was there earlier and there is next to nothing set up at this point. 6 years of doing this show and I have never seen it this barren at this point in the process. They keep saying it will get done, but I do not know how. I think everyone is waiting to see how the storm pans out, then decide more.

Currently raining in Orlando, but not much else. Still no winds here.

She is waiting to see what happens and if the show will be canceled. She is not involved in setting up their booth, but I can't imagine it's very complicated.

Some day I'd like to go with her so I can wonder around the show and see all the cool stuff.
