So after 2 full days of playing plumber, welder, flooring installer, electrician, and asshole- we have everything installed and working! Plumbing everything was an absolute cocksucker. Up and down over and over for hours. Eleventy billion trips to Home Depot. A little ingenuity, and some luck. We have hot water, and I’m finished inside. Fucking done. Over it. Shoulda bought a pre built unit haha.

Honky Lips that's a well earned celebratory libation! How big (approximate gallons) is the black tank?

When I replaced the composting toilet with the plastic rv toilet and black tank, I walked into my local hardware store carrying the rv toilet and black tank to make sure I got all the connections I would need. Got lots of fun glances walking around the store with those items in the cart.

You really should separate everything from the toilet and add a gray tank.
I understand where you’re coming from but I have a 42 gallon black tank and most of my trips are 3 to 4 nights at most so this will be more than enough. Also having the extra water from the shower and sink go into the black tank will help liquefy the terds.

You don't ever plan to do a week plus with the trailer? My old cab over fed the shower into the black tank and I hated it. Granted it was way less than 42g, but just sucked to have to dump more often than I should have. It's nice to let the gray water drain out on the ground when you're boon docking.

Got the diamond tread plates installed today. Everything is under cover and loaded. Aside from installing the diesel heater I am finished. If I get bored this weekend I’ll get the heater installed but honestly I’m wore out on working on this thing. It’s going to be so nice not having to load all the wheeling stuff up every trip. No more finding air bnb places or having to plan months in advance for a cabin at a park. I’m looking forward to getting plenty of use out of this setup.

Diamond plate looks great.

That freedom of having most everything already loaded makes trips so much easier and more fun too.

So much this

We have 3 kids and the thought of packing shit to camp for 1 night is overwhelming, then you unpack to set up camp, repack and get home just to unpack again :barf:

Anything that speeds this up is well worth it imo. Hook up, load some food and go :smokin:

Truth. My current setup could be ready to roll in two hours and it’s not been used since last Thanksgiving weekend.

Got the diesel heater installed today. Just in case the space heaters not enough at any time. These little Chinese diesel heater’s work amazing, can set temp controls, it will always be running the fan on low but they sip fuel when running

Nice setup! Got a link to that diesel heater?

Our current enclosed has the built in heat strips into the ac unit. No thermostat control, just a knob to adjust. It is good to roughly 40* ambient temp outside, but anything lower than that temp and it just blows cold air. So I'd imagine the wife could be interested in getting some backup heat instead of the space heaters.

what ^he^ said. any chinese diesel heater will work excellent. its crazy how well they work with how cheap they are. and quiet!

i got the not enclosed version just so i can have the fuel tank outside the camper (they are sealed but i dont want to spill diesel fuel while filling the tank and stink up the camper permanently) as well as the fuel pump clicking can get annoying so having it outside is a win.

If you zoom in you can see it's a vevor. I have one also. Works great. Mine is the all in one enclosed unit. But the guts are the same.

They make 5KW and 8KW units. So watch what you order.

Adding this to my list of things to add to our current enclosed! Thanks for the info!

40 foot total length?
It is exactly 45 feet gooseneck to back of the trailer.

Nothing new to report other than I bought a back up water pump because that would suck to not have water pressure and I winterized everything yesterday. Unfortunately, between the boys mountain bike races and shitty weather. I have not had a chance to get out and try it yet I’m really hoping to do so before king of the hammers but life is what it is. I suppose I could just spend the weekend in it next to the house.

Just hanging out and leaving it plugged into the house. Everything‘s working great the only thing I haven’t done is use the toilet. The solar panel Keeps the 12 V battery charged up.

The tires are 14 ply so I put 80 psi in all of them. They are rated for up to 95.

I thought I was going to go wheeling a couple weeks ago so I pulled it out loaded the jeep up on it and got everything strapped down only for my boy to come home and tell me there is a school dance that night. He really wanted to go to so I made him unpack everything before he went to the dance and we stayed home that weekend. Kids are the greatest and the worst at the same time.

Definitely use it camping in the driveway one weekend to try things out. Lot easier to troubleshoot any issues or run back inside to grab something you forgot from the driveway than out at Hammers.

1000% accurate on kids being the greatest and worst. I’ve missed several trips over the last 2.5 years for mine getting sickly right as I’m 90% loaded for a weekend trip.

Forgot to quote you but see my last post. This weekend is a event at Smoler but once again end of season mountain bike party and the ex won’t take him so rather than going wheeling, I am going to sit at a pumpkin patch from 6 to 10 Friday night.
Sounds like you’ll be an extra in a Hallmark movie :lmao:

Pretty cool whole thing was Hallmark and the work you done to it. Something I would love to own

Fuck yeah I am. Gonna be nice this year with a real bed mattress instead of a slab of foam. 2 heat sources, starlink, solar and 2 fridges. Luxury abound!

I should get there Monday afternoon.
AWESOME! Can't wait to see everything loaded up and to read the report for how things went on the trip.

one update i did was to install a exhaust extension on the generator. which is basically a 1" flex hose and clamp to the existing exhaust pipe. the CO detector on the generator would kill it occasionally even with the diamond tread cover taken off. After routing the exhaust out to the outside of the trailer decking now it can run with the diamond tread cover on. added a CO alarm in the camper just in case as well. ran wire to run the chinese diesel heater off of the 12v battery so i dont have to run the generator for heat.
