Biggest racket going (didn't stop me buying stuff though :lmao:)
He can charge what he likes knowing people will still pay. The expensive potato=free stuff thing was still going on, there was one chap wandering out with an armful of swag complaining (in jest) about his £90 potato

Unfortunately I think due to his celebrity status it's gonna be tough to run a true farm shop, the kind where the locals will pop in to buy their weekly milk, veg and meat etc as it's just way too busy. So he's kinda backed into a corner in that regard which is a shame as it looked like he had some nice locally produced stuff in there.

I hadn’t considered at the shop would be mostly unusable to the locals due to the traffic. That would help explain why some of them are so adamant against it.

But on the other hand, all of that traffic has to be a great thing for selling local produce products, even if that’s only 10% of what’s going out the door.

what is really cool is this farm i just found out today (thanks to this thread) has been on top gear and been with him since 2008 and since i have top gear going on my tv every day ( samsung smart tv frre channel 1189) i will look for it in the shows now.

Maybe the caravan episodes were at the park near the farm?

:laughing: I finally had to turn that channel off a little while back. Not sure how many times I watched each season of UK. Was going back and forth between that and MotorTrend for a while.

The problem with the locals is you've got 2 main sorts: The lifetime locals who can see the benefits the shop and tourism bring to the local community and producers.
Then you've got those who have moved to the countryside from cities or other local villages that have gotten to big for them bringing their idyllic view of what country life should be (the same ones that bitch about crowing roosters, mud on the road and big fuck off farm equipment bombing down the tiny little country lanes at 50mph) and don't really have any skin in the game, they just want their little bubble to remain undisturbed.
If he wants to turn a field into a carpark, build a decent shop and restaurant, he should ba allowed to get it done. A proper car park would solve the traffic issues, big shop and restaurant would bring a good couple of dozen jobs to the village which would be excellent for local teens and provide a good outlet for various local producers.
But nope that'd be bad for the community and a disaster for the environment. I bet the council would fall over themselves to help if he decided to turn 100 acres into a solar farm :homer:

You can watch him blow up his old house there. :smokin:

There's a Top Gear channel on Pluto TV. Free, but with commercials. They run some of the later TG's and the chemistry between the hosts seems to be lacking.

It's on Samsung TV also. I change the channel channel after Season 22 for that very reason and next time I would see an early season on the guide, I'd flip back. Haven't tried 27+, might give it a go one day.
