Plans are to build a camp trailer after this is done, I want to be able to run trailer brakes. That, and the surprise factor of seeing this thing drag a trailer around. Why the 7 pin trailer plug?

Electric brakes, charging and back up lights? Why the 7 pin trailer plug?
Exactly.Electric brakes, charging and back up lights?
I forgot he made a custom frame and this thing isn't really a CJ5 anymore. a stock CJ5 has no real business towing anything that needs trailer brakes.Electric brakes, charging and back up lights?
Yeah, it's basically a 3/4 / 1 ton short wheelbase pickup with discs all around. Don't want to tow heavy, but a custom camper for short weekend trips for the wife and I would be fun.I forgot he made a custom frame and this thing isn't really a CJ5 anymore. a stock CJ5 has no real business towing anything that needs trailer brakes.

That's fair. There really ain't much 5 left in it.It's a 1ton CJ5 silhouette truck
For sure. But boy does it make for a long day three days a week. That's awesome you take the time to teach the kids how to weld. That's a skill they will have for the rest of their lives.

That's the way the 8274 mounts. It pulls through the bottom hole and they've been run this way for decades. I can't drop it into the bumper due to steering box and sway bar location.Looks good. Curious why you didn't mount the winch to the bumper? Seem like that would be much stronger than the plate you made.
Bought a 8274 in '81 for $550.00<> new and had that same winch on a several vehicles the years.Front bumper looks pretty menacing with that winch plate set on there
I've gotta say, i really love my miller 211. It just runs so well, and i have abused the crap out of it.that'll dothere's just something about an 8274. They just look right on older rigs.
Thanks budBumper looks fantastic. I like how the sides also protect the ends of the swaybar.
Definitely different as compared to old sealed beams. This was the first time I'd been in one.Bummer about the headlight.
LED headlights always look bazaar on the inside. Or maybe I'm just old.
Most are set up for low light with the right receptors. It was titled as an M38a1, so infrared headlight off a humvee seemed appropriate, for cool factor, as Mucha I can run vehicle cameras and pick up a lot more in low light scenarios.infra red? but why pictures?
Started using Deutsch plugs years ago for everything I add aux lights to and they make life so much easier when you have to remove a bumper or headache rack.Added an electrical quick connect, for jumping/ charging. I don't like it sticking out, going to move it back and shim down so the mate connects inside the hole in the bumper.
fog lights addedyet another component wiring harness with quick disconnects, everything is set up to be one way, lights are opposed plugs and different colors so my dumb ass cant mix them up and have one fog with one driving light come on.will clean this up when painted and permanent, but wanted to do a test fit for clearances installed.man that looks goodeverything is functional off my yest battery. I had one driving light that was non functional. My dumb ass swapped wires on the supply connector, the LED did what it was supposed to (acted like a check valve) and didn't come on. A quick wire flip and problem solved.confirmed infrared. Can't see it with the naked eye, but it.sure shows up well in pictures.
Great cabinets, but boy, do they know their value. Even used. Wish I could afford to redo the whole shop and line the walls with them for continuous cabinet space and one bitchin countertop/ work bench.Started using Deutsch plugs years ago for everything I add aux lights to and they make life so much easier when you have to remove a bumper or headache rack.
Noticed your Vidmar cabinet, I've two in my shop at home. One is standard bench height and the other is 5' tall, great cabinets.
Excellent quality and last decades, mine are about 40yrs old. Got them for free from work, also got vidmar butcher block bench top that I made a 10' long bench out of.Great cabinets, but boy, do they know their value. Even used.
