Chief buggy

Also from what I have read, if I have a 2.5x10,

My best orbital options are roughly this-

160 (9.8) = 2.6 Turns 3.2 Turns
200 (12.2) = 2.0 Turns 2.6 Turns
with a smaller pump like you're looking at, get a 160

ah ok I thought there was some other one. I have used most of the discount codes at this point other than their special sale ones.

Also, in planning out my fuel lines, I am going an external pump, bottom outlet and return. This would allow my to protect my lines, and have the top of the cell clear minus the fill cap. I was thinking to vent out of the top most corner on the side, the the 3 sides, loop and down that is common on ultra 4 specs. My current truggy doesnt have a rollover valve, just the 3 sides, big loop and down.....but the vent does come out of the top, vs side. We are literally talk rotate 90* and have the outlet facing forward versus a 90 fitting off the top of the cell. I have never seen this done...the always come out the top....:homer: idea?

Is it really that hard to drill a hole and put a bulkhead fitting in the correct location ?

So pondering steering. I was going to run a surplus center 2.5x10 double ended ram. With Western Canadian rockwell weld blocks, with a few added touches to make it similar to the JHF/hulse type mounts
Make sure you weld bumper blocks on both sides of the ram feet. Otherwise you WILL shear the bolts. Ask me how I know. I have pics of what I did on Rockcrawler.

Less 90* the better the system will flow, I deleted a couple out of my system and it was night and day difference

Curious on your thoughts of if a 2.5" is going to be enough ram for steering? I see a lot of guys going to 3" rams front and rear now, and I know some are considering even larger. I also get that money doesn't grow on trees.

2.5 has been fine for most folks forever.

3" with a TC pump is slow city, it fucking sucks.

I assume it will be fine? My dad and I are both running 2.5x8 and 2.5x10 single ended surplus rams with p-pumps without much drama. I can turn at will?

Well maybe its just a rear steer thing, or maybe its the vertical climbs in sand hollow? Dunno, but good to know!

like guys arent getting enough?

I would run the big guy, but they are only 9" or 11" throw. Unless my math is wrong, that's too much for my 05+ knuckles. And 9" is less than it will turn full lock .

get an 11" and limit it if you want to go 3"

Yes. I've heard of a few guys saying don't bother with a 2.5 and go straight to 3", citing that they get into situations where they couldn't steer with a 2.5 ram. I'm guessing its steep vertical climbs and trying to rear steer, or being wedged in a crack. I do wonder if its the shorter steering arms and less leverage that 50deg steering brings with it?

In true fashion, RH, has done it again. He posted these 3.9 engine mounts. I think I’m gonna redo mine like this. I really can imagine it will impact things that much? But looks sooo much cleaner

Are his cleaner? Sure. Is it worth redoing yours? No, I think you're are still pretty damn nice. Focus on moving forwards not backwards :smokin:

Looks good from my house, and you already built the headers for your current setup.

I'd personally re-do them. It will give you significantly more room to remove the engine if you need to....that's how I did mine in my 1st buggy and it's way better than in the 3rd buggy which mounts really close to the block (closer than yours actually). You'd be surprised how much difference 2" of space is when trying to cherry pick an engine/trans combo or just the engine alone with and often without all the accessories still on it.

A little update. Got seats finalized, harness mounts, seat bars in. The bars will get cut and be detachable. I’d like to be able to pull the cases and trans out the top/back.
