Absolutely! Can not argue with a man that has made sucking and blowing a career.

Yellowstone trip, Mesa to Payson, to Moab, up through eyedehoe to Yellowstone, 5 nights just outside the west gate, Hauled ass across Wyoming to South Dakota, 2 nights Mt Rushmore, and Crazy Horse. Got chased out of South Dakota by that Canadian storm that dumped 8"s on us. South Dakota to Colorado Springs in a driving sleet storm. Gawddamn the 25 south through Denver fucking sucks balls. Colorado Springs to Old Town Santa Fe for some white bathrobe action at the Eldorado. Back in Payson.
3128 mile 11 nights, The Whale never missed a beat. Got busted in a Utah speed trap doing 95 in a 65, Nice young man wrote me for 9 over, thank you very much. Ran it up to 105 jammin across Wyoming for a few miles mashed, pretty sure the puter said no more...

So 5 nights in West Yellowstone, We hit the lower geyser basin thoroughly, we hit some of the big falls, rented a boat for a day pretending to fish on Yellowstone lake.
No busloads of foreign tourist, people were pretty chill, we never got stuck in a line, Went in to the park early with a destination in mind, using the parks online map to avoid crashes and fires.
The oozing goo and bubbly pools are best later in the day, early they are just steaming pots of sulphur stench in the morning.
Lots of walking, the hike down to the "brink of the lower falls" was well worth it, same for Crystal Falls And the "brink of the upper falls".
Viewed Old Faithful from 3 different view points, first went to the cafeteria and got some Bison brisket and fries and watched from the front, next we hiked up the hill and watched from there. Best viewing was from the backside towards the lodge.
Lake was glass smooth and air temp 82*. Rented an 18' skiff with a Honda 40 hp and a steering wheel.

So then it was off to Mount Rushmore. 10 hours from the the West gate of Yellowstone to Hill City South Dakota. 105 mph across Wyoming in a couple of places, miles of barb wire and huge cows.
Geeked out hard at the Mount Rushmore museum, The simplicity of the transfer method from the "model" to the Rock was absolutely refreshing. The Presidential Trail gets you up close, lots of steps. We got there right before the Canadian front dropped 8" of snow.
The Museum is pretty fricken inspiring.
