7.3 thread continued?

That's what I run. Or Motorcraft filter, used to be cheaper.
250hr oil changes so maybe 6-7000 miles
I've put 60K on it in 13 years. So it just get changed once a year. Wether it needs it or not.

I run synthetic Delo 5-40 and a motor craft filter. The Delo out of everything started the best when it was really cold, otherwise if live in a milder climate and you change it at 5k miles it probably doesn't matter.

Just an FYI . When I replaced my old HPOP wirh a CNC fab stage 2 pump recently. I found that the CNC Fab 3/8" line kit doesn't have the OEM pump fittings from international. My original pump outlet fittings have a counter bore to fit the check valve whereas the CNC fab fittings do not. I reused my original fittings.

The hoses are better than the IH oem hoses at half the price!

Crossposting this, hope its ok.

Did the efuel conversion on my 96 7.3 a month ago now. Running good, which means i dont need my fuel bowl or FPR anymore (plus one or two other things). Maybe someone here might want some spare parts?

What did you all notice with the Efuel conversion?

I hear quicker starts.

What about power, can you notice? Does it run quieter? Those are things people claim.

Have a hard time with this, Like I know I should do it, but I have not had any problems with mechanical fuel. I hit 390hp on mechanical fuel, I was pretty happy with that.

Went out to my truck to grab my work phone and see a ****ing huge oil slick. Looks like something on top of the motor let go. got about 1/8" of oil left on the bottom of the dipstick. Gonna trailer it to buddy's shop after work and see WTF.
01 7.3. Hoping it's easy like HPOP lines.

1/8” on the dipstick is normal for a 7.3!

Went and had another look. Oil seems concentrated on driver's rear. Thinking the line let go to the driver's side head. There's no crossover line either, so it may be stock lines with almost 600,000km on it.

I did the swap because the aftermarket mechanical pumps are junk. This one only lasted 3 years and then dumped a bunch of a fuel into the crankcase which was cool.

Quicker starts for sure. It builds to 65psi within seconds, long before the Wait To Start light turns off. Fires right up every time, and I'd swear it idles a little smoother.

Aesthetically it's a lot cleaner under the hood.

It's definitely not any quieter, but I wouldn't say it's any louder either. The pump is on the frame rail and you can hear it KOEO but it's not like it's loud, and the engine drowns it out.

I can't comment on power as I also replaced my very leaky up-pipes with ceramic coated ones, and that alone made it run a ton better.

Efuel conversion is covered in my build thread over in the Ford section, starts here:

Yep. HPOP line blown right by the fitting on the driver's side. Ordered a kit, they'll be here this weekend. Borrowed a trailer from one guy, got another one to haul the truck to his shop, since mine is 4wd access only right now, and is still clogged with the 4runner, and returned the trailer. Guy who I borrowed the trailer from insisted I borrow his truck until mine is sorted. So I've got a 79 square body 1 ton with a rowdy 6.0 LS in it for a week or so.
Could be worse.

Square body pics didn't load

That didn't work out, had to return my rental for warranty.

Swapped the HPOP lines, including adding a crossover.
Long crank when starting, but I'm hoping after some driving that clears up and is just due to air in the system.

Added a wicked wheel and new waste gate actuator too, seems to build less boost, but pulls just as hard. Maybe I need to adjust the waste gate? I don't think it's dumping boost though, just not building as fast, or as high.

Are landrover transmissions not made of glass like the rest of the car's drive train?
It’s the 8HP trans in Dodge Ram 1500s, hellcats, etc.

ZF has them behind everything.

Guys putting them behind 750-800 hp LS’s now and hold up fine

It's torque that kills trannys. High HP in a light car that lives 1/4 mile at a time doesn't convince me it will hold up to towing. I like the idea, but I'd like to see one run heavy a few thousand miles first.

This may have been asked/answered but. OBDLink LX/MX will read transmission codes? Truck is '01 F-550 7.3/4R100(I think it's a 4R100)
Edit. Forgot to add. With Forscan

Zf8s are in dodge 2500s towing heavy. Do those trucks have issues woth the ZF8?

The HP90 or 95 from a hellcat fits the bill and is stronger than the 2500 series dodge version.

Zf built a global transmission this time around.

Is it behind a Cummins? Or just the gasser?

Just my opinion, that right there would be a big no to putting a ZF8 behind a diesel. But I could be wrong.

GM put the 700R4 behind the 6.2 diesel in 1/2 ton. One of the biggest issues was the 6.2 ran and peak torque in an RPM range well below where the 700R4 needed to make peak pressure. Even in the most light duty applications it was prone to frequent burn ups.

Don't put a gas transmission behind a diesel.
