I've put 60K on it in 13 years. So it just get changed once a year. Wether it needs it or not. That's what I run. Or Motorcraft filter, used to be cheaper.
250hr oil changes so maybe 6-7000 miles

What did you all notice with the Efuel conversion?Crossposting this, hope its ok.
Did the efuel conversion on my 96 7.3 a month ago now. Running good, which means i dont need my fuel bowl or FPR anymore (plus one or two other things). Maybe someone here might want some spare parts?
I figured id post this here first in case someone needs this stuff.

One set Dorman up-pipes, never installed.
Stock fuel bowl, with FPR & WIF sensor still installed. Comes with SD fuel bowl heater which was installed but never plugged in
Replacement high pressure fuel lines from pump to back of heads, includes banjo bolt. Maybe 5 years old but maybe only 10k on it, in good shape. Comes with every fitting that gets installed in the heads.
One set of the stubby little fuel hoses for the fuel bowl still in the bag...

1/8” on the dipstick is normal for a 7.3!Went out to my truck to grab my work phone and see a ****ing huge oil slick. Looks like something on top of the motor let go. got about 1/8" of oil left on the bottom of the dipstick. Gonna trailer it to buddy's shop after work and see WTF.
01 7.3. Hoping it's easy like HPOP lines.
You guys have a dipstick?1/8” on the dipstick is normal for a 7.3!

Yeah, that's where all the oil leaks out.You guys have a dipstick?

I did the swap because the aftermarket mechanical pumps are junk. This one only lasted 3 years and then dumped a bunch of a fuel into the crankcase which was cool. What did you all notice with the Efuel conversion?
I hear quicker starts.
What about power, can you notice? Does it run quieter? Those are things people claim.
Yep. HPOP line blown right by the fitting on the driver's side. Ordered a kit, they'll be here this weekend. Borrowed a trailer from one guy, got another one to haul the truck to his shop, since mine is 4wd access only right now, and is still clogged with the 4runner, and returned the trailer. Guy who I borrowed the trailer from insisted I borrow his truck until mine is sorted. So I've got a 79 square body 1 ton with a rowdy 6.0 LS in it for a week or so.
Could be worse.

Square body pics didn't load
. Ordered a wack of sound deadening, the new wheel is stupid loud. It’s the 8HP trans in Dodge Ram 1500s, hellcats, etc.Are landrover transmissions not made of glass like the rest of the car's drive train?
It's torque that kills trannys. High HP in a light car that lives 1/4 mile at a time doesn't convince me it will hold up to towing. I like the idea, but I'd like to see one run heavy a few thousand miles first. It’s the 8HP trans in Dodge Ram 1500s, hellcats, etc.
ZF has them behind everything.
Guys putting them behind 750-800 hp LS’s now and hold up fine
My 97 would read trans codes through the OBD.This may have been asked/answered but. OBDLink LX/MX will read transmission codes? Truck is '01 F-550 7.3/4R100(I think it's a 4R100)
Zf8s are in dodge 2500s towing heavy. Do those trucks have issues woth the ZF8?It's torque that kills trannys. High HP in a light car that lives 1/4 mile at a time doesn't convince me it will hold up to towing. I like the idea, but I'd like to see one run heavy a few thousand miles first.
Is it behind a Cummins? Or just the gasser?Zf8s are in dodge 2500s towing heavy. Do those trucks have issues woth the ZF8?
The HP90 or 95 from a hellcat fits the bill and is stronger than the 2500 series dodge version.
Zf built a global transmission this time around.

Just my opinion, that right there would be a big no to putting a ZF8 behind a diesel. But I could be wrong.Gasser
